Thomas Edison

Hey, I did a report on Thomas Edison, and it's due tomorrow. I want you guys to rate my little biography on him.. :) Plz tell me if there's anything I can correct. :D

Thomas Alva Edison
The light bulb is a very important invention that we use almost every day, right? That’s just one of the many inventions of Thomas Alva Edison. The seventh child of Samuel Ogden Edison and Nancy Matthews Elliott, Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. He grew up in a family with 3 brothers and sisters. (There were six in total, but three of them died from sickness.)
At a young age, Thomas Edison got sick many times, and as a result, he eventually became deaf. Soon enough, he decided to get a job as a telegrapher. After a while, he got fired because he accidently spilled sulfuric acid on the ground while doing one of his experiments. He returned home penniless because he had ran out of money.
When he told his mother that he had changed his mind and changed his mind and wanted to be an inventor, his mother was worried that he would turn out to be a waste, because inventors at that time period never earned much money, and most starved. She was not pleased. At that time, no one knew that in a few years, Thomas Edison would become a multimillionaire.
Thomas Edison married Mary Edison and had 3 children called Marion Estelle Edison, Thomas Alva Edison Jr., and William Leslie Edison. Mary soon died in August possibly from a brain tumor. After her death, Edison married 20 year old Mina Edison and had three more Children: Madeleine Edison, Charles Edison, and Theodore Miller Edison. Mina lived longer than Edison, dying on August 24, 1947.
Thomas Edison died at the age of eighty-four on October 18, 1931, in West Orange, New Jersey. Even though he had a hard start to life, in the end, he had gained fame and fortune. He had patented more than 1,000 inventions in his lifetime. The light bulb was one of the most well known.

Oh, and we're supposed to come up with an invention too. My mind is completely blank. -_-; Help me plz.... :P

Eh... I figured out the invention part. :P A bowl that senses when your food is too cold and warms it up. Crappy, but it still might work.
