Shadowpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Shadowstar had already awoken the excited apprentice as she made her way to the large rock overlooking the camp. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" She yowled proudly.

Shadowpaw padded to the rock and sat down. She smiled.

As the imaginary yet totally there cats gathered around, Shadowstar continued with her announcement. "We gather here today in order to make this apprentice a warrior. Shadowpaw, please step forward," The leader mewed with a look of pure delight. Another warrior was a great thing. It excited her almost as much as it excited the apprentice.

Shadowpaw stepped fowrd her eyes glittiring with excitment.

The leader looked down at Shadowpaw with a great look of pride. "Shadowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect the clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Shadowpaw nodded."I do."

"Then I hereby give you your warrior name," She mewed. "Shadowpaw, from now on you will be known as Shadowfeather. You will sit a silent vigil tonight in honor of receiving your name." After that, Shadowstar climbed off the rock and smiled at the new warrior.

Shadowfeather smiled she was very happy.

Littlekit bounded out of the nursery. "What happened?" he demanded.

As the leader got down from the rock, she saw the small kit run out of the nursery and demand to know what happened. Walking over to Littlekit, she smiled at how much he reminded her of Littlelight. Strange...

"Shadowfeather just had her warrior ceremony. One day you will have one too!" She mewed.

Littlekit looked at Shadowstar. "And I'll be the best warrior ever!" he decided. "And I'll become leader like you!"
