Home...without a friend...who lost their life...to save a demon???

Coldkit trailed into camp beside the patrol. His pelt was soaked and ragged, and the whites of his eyes clearly showed. Stormwing was no where to be seen.

Raincloud looked down at Coldkit with sad eyes. She pitied him. He had just wittenesed his mother die after all. She bent down and began to groom the kit with gentle, comforting licks

Coldkit suddenly shrugged her of with a hiss, running into the nursery. He sobbed into his mother's empty nest, not knowing what to do.

Darkkit stirred from her sleep. "Why are you sad?" She asked, blinking sleep from her eyes.

Coldkit shook his head, pawing his eyes to hide all tears. He straightened up. "Stormwing isn't coming home..." He croaked uneasily. "She's....she....She's dead. She died saving me from a falling tree..."

Darkkit looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry." She murmured in his ear.

Raincloud watched as Coldkit ran to the nursery. She looked up at the cloudy sky with teary eyes. You left us too soon, Stormwing.

Tears stained Darkkit's fur, making it look even darker.

Coldkit shook his head. "It's okay...I-I'll get over it," He mewed quietly.

But inside, his heart was ice cold with regret, hatred, sadness, and terror. He hoped the cold feeling would go away, but it seemed to get colder and icier every second...

Darkkit nuzzled his ear. "And I'll still be here."

OOC: Darkkit will have a crush. Just sayin.

ooc: But they be cousins. Wait, is she adopted? Then it could work XD
Plus I plan for him to have a mate when he grows up, so all good

ic: Coldkit nodded. "I'm glad to hear that," He murmured with a sigh. He curled up next to his friend, since now his mothers nest was turning cold without her, and started to drift off to sleep.

IC: Darkkit lay down next to him, providing warmth.

Creamstripe looked sadly at Coldkit. "Your mother may be gone, but she'll live forever in your heart, as does mine," she mewed. "For she died to save me too." Creamstripe sat there, her eyes just a hint of green in them, forlorn and sad. She padded over to Raincloud. "Maykit was taken by a fox while the patrol was out," she mewed, the note in her voice showing she'd been crying. She was stunned slightly that noone noticed Maykit wasn't there.
