Frosty's leader ceremony.

Silentherb sat at the edge of the camp, her yellow eyes fixed on the river. She just couldn't believe that Sleepystar was dead. She swiped her paw over the water, letting out a small growl. RiverClan had just lost a great leader! She glanced back at the camp and at the leader's den. At least they were getting another great leader in his place. She sat there, waiting for Moonfrost to come. She hadn't invited Frogpaw to come, believing that only her and Moonfrost to come, also to leave somebody to heal in case somebody got hurt.

Moonfrost sighed as she walked out of the warrior's den. "Hey Silentherb. You ready?" She asked quietly. She hadn't spoken much since the night of the gathering, because she was so in shock. I'm not ready! She wanted to cry, but she knew she had to be strong for her clan now.

Silentherb got to her paws, nodding. "Yes, I am, Moonfrost," she meowed, and padded from the camp, not seeing if Moonfrost was following her.

*Time skip*

The giant mountain of Highstone loomed above them soon as they padded toward it, and Silentherb froze at the entrance of the cave. "You go ahead in, I shall stand guard here," she meowed as she sat down.

Moonfrost nodded, her eyes locked on the cave ahead. Whether or not she was ready, it was time to go.

It was pitch black, and she had to lead herself through the tunnel with her tail and whiskers. It was terrifying knowing that above you was stone and dirt, that could crush you easily and kill a cat instantly. Her whiskers quivered as she pushed forward. Soon, she saw light and entered a dimly lit cave. Looking up, she saw that it opened up, and that Silverpelt shined high above her head. The light beamed down on a crystal like stone, which lit up the room along with the stars. She had come with Sleepystar once before, and copied what she had seen him do.
Moonfrost laid down in front of the stone, resting her chin on her paws before touching her nose to the stone. She was surprised to find it cold, extremely cold, but she stayed still and closed her eyes, waiting for StarClan.

Soon, she opened her eyes, surprised to find herself in the middle of Fourtrees. Even more surprising, was that cats that surrounded her in starry ranks. Looking around, she noticed familiar faces. Sleepystar! Fuzzyear! Darkblood! She felt compelled to speak, but something else kept her silent as she watched closely as the first cat walked up- one extremely familiar to her.
"Sparrowflight..." She meowed in disbelief, almost overcome with sorrow.
Paying no attention to Moonfrost, the brown tabby got straight to the point. "With this life I give you loyalty, to stay by your clan's side no matter what." Moonfrost dipped her head, but soon she felt it. A searing pain shot through her heart, but it was soon replaced by a warm sensation. She understood, somewhat. She figured this is what true loyalty felt like, a zealous yet loving passion driving you to protect and stand by those you love.
Sparrowflight smiled, before backing into the ranks of endless StarClan warriors.
Next was Badgerfang, Moonfrost's apprentice and good friend, sister of Sparrowflight. "Badgerfang!" She purred, but again, the departed she-cat showed no sign of hearing her. "Hello Moonfrost. With this life I give you wisdom, use it well to figure out what is right." She purred, before touching noses with Moonfrost and backing away. Moonfrost prepared for another jolt, but was greeted by a calm feeling, one that seemed to fill her with all the knowledge in the world, and the ability to use it.
Next was her father, Darkblood. "Father..." She meowed, and was greeted with a reply. "Daughter.." He purred, before returning to business. "With this life I give you strength, to defend your clan through thick and thin." He murmured, his head held high in... Was that pride? Moonfrost wanted to think that. As he walked away, she felt a painful feeling, like her body was being attacked from all angles. She crouched down and gritted her teeth, and forced herself to stand up. Soon after, the feeling passed, just as the next cat stepped forward.
"Leafpaw!" She purred, without expecting a reply. She had learned that she wasn't going to get one. Surprising her, Leafpaw purred and ran forward with the tireless energy of an apprentice. She had gone to ShadowClan long ago, but she had been Moonfrost's best friend. "Hey Moonfrost. Long time no see." She whispered with a wink, before speaking louder. "With this life I give you compassion, use it well for the elders, the sick, and all those weaker than you." She said before touching noses with Moonfrost and running off. Soon, Moonfrost felt a sweet, honey-like trickle in her heart. A kindness for everyone, and the need to protect everyone.
Next was a she-cat with a pelt similar to one of a tiger's. She new this cat well, and her eyes glowed at her sister. "With this life I give you protection, so you can care for those in your clan, even with your own life." She meowed, and Moonfrost let her words sink in. They felt like a slap in the face, with the memory of Moonfrost failing to save Fuzzyear so sharp in her mind. But she remembered another thing- whenever she had curled around Stormpaw till the tantrum stopped. Moonfrost guessed that that was protection. She expected this to feel loving and gentle, but instead she was greeted by anger and a fierce need to do one thing; protect. This somewhat resembled what she felt towards her kits, but at a stronger level. Soon it passed, and a new cat approached.
Then came a small and beautiful she-cat, barely the size of an apprentice. Mothpaw. The one attacked by a badger, who hadn't lived past apprentice-hood. "With this I give you mentoring, so you can train the apprentices in your clan." She announced, sweet and simple.
The seventh cat to come was Emeraldpaw, her first daughter. Tears brimmed Moonfrost's eyes, but she blinked them back. "With this life I give you love," Her daughter purred, looking at her mother with eyes filled with love. "Use it well for all those you care for." She purred, before dipping her head and walking away.
The second to last cat that appeared was Rosejade, a previous medicine cat in RiverClan, who Moonfrost had grown to know. "With this I give you... Hope. To never give up in times of trouble, and to always led your clan to the silver lining." She meowed softly, in a gentle tone. Moonfrost felt as if the world would fall on her any moment- much worse than when she was in the tunnel- before it was lifted off her shoulders completely. She sighed in relief, just realizing that she had been holding her breath.
Lastly, was her former leader. A strong, wise Sleepystar, young and untouched by insanity walked towards her. His gaze was gentle, but still held the power that he always possessed. "Welcome Moonfrost. My warrior and deputy, I believed you would make a fine leader someday. And today is that day." He purred, and Moonfrost dipped her head. "With this life, I give you nobility, certainty and faith. Use it well to lead your clan in the ways of StarClan and in the warrior code." She grimaced as she felt Sleepystar's life pass before his eyes. She felt what he had felt, and toke the same blows he once had. She was taking the path he toke now, and it was her turn to lead the clan. She suddenly felt ready and certain, unlike moments before. She was aware of the commitment she was making, and accepted it with open arms. "I hail you by your new name, Moonstar," Moonstar shivered at the word. It was her title now, one that held power beyond others. "Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of RiverClan. Defend it well, and leave your new life with pride and dignity. RiverClan is in your paws now; guide it well. He purred, before dipping his head and taking a step back.
She looked around as the cats chanted her new name, and she lifted her head with pride.
She closed her eyes, lulled away by the rhythmic sound of her name.

Opening her eyes again, Moonstar looked around to see a dim cave with stars shining above. The ground was cold, but she didn't notice, for she was to much in a high from her ceremony. She walked back through the dark, dreary tunnel and arrived outside. Moonstar looked around and spotted Silentherb. "Ready?" She asked calmly, sitting and wrapping her tail around her paws.

"Yes, Moonstar," Silentherb meowed as she padded back to the RiverClan camp with their new leader, the all great Moonstar! ALL HAIL MOONSTAR!
