Fight for the Forest

Sleepystar stood near the Gorge, looking down into the killer waters that had taken his mentor and his friend. Staring into it, all he could think of was his master plan. His dream. How could the Clans fail to see this solution to their problems? He sighed, slowly looking behind him. He would need to finish this fight.

Silverstar pushed through some bushes that happened to be there. All that was on her mind, like Sleepystar, was finishing this fight. Whatever happened was on her shoulders, her and Sleepystar. Sleepystar... she couldn't fight him. She was blind, he was larger, he was... her mentor. Whatever happened would have to happen though. StarClan's will be done... this will turn out however they wish it to. They will set things straight... I hope...
"Sleepystar."
A low growl emitted from her throat.
"This must end."
Her voice came to a pleading tone, and the glint of cold in her eyes disapeared.
"Please, you must listen to me! I would never have let this happened, if I stayed in RiverClan... but had I not gone to ThunderClan, they would have fallen apart. Please, Sleepystar. I knew it would end in a fight... but I just don't want to."
Though I will if I have to.

"Silverstar..." Sleepystar said in reply, turning to meet his former apprentice. "This doesn't have to end like this. Just see reason...!" he pleaded. Though he felt like he already knew her answer. His claws became unsheathed.

She spoke before unsheathing her claws as well.
"You're right. It deosn't have to end this way. I already see the reason. I just wish you could too."

Sleepystar's voice dropped into a growl. "Then I'm sorry. But you brought this on yourself." he said, before leaping at Silverstar, claws flailing.

She hissed as she was knocked back by the blow. She scratched at his face, almost yowling.

Sleepystar recoiled from the scratch, backing up. The claw marks dripped blood. "I thought I trained you better than this...!" he hissed, jumping back again and tackling Silverstar.

She kicked him in the gut with her hind paws, claws extended. She snarled as she slashed at his side.

Sleepystar audibly grunted as she hit his stomach and then stumbled when she slashed him. He stood there, trying to recover and unable to attack back.

Silverstar saw the... well, I suppose she sensed the moment to end it. The hole in the barrier. She lunged forward with a bite to the neck, jaws closing and filling her mouth with blood.

Sleepystar ripped himself away, warm red streams of blood running from the teethmarks in his neck. He coughed a couple of times, more blood spewing from his mouth and down his gray muzzle.
"Y-you've bested me..." he said in defeat, but a smile grew on his old face. He looked strange, his eyes wide along with the grin.
"But this is also a punishment for you." he said cryptically in a rather clear tone, considering his injuries. He stood at the edge of the large cliff face, the same one that had taken the lives of the leaders before him.
"Farewell."
"Farewell."
And with that, Sleepystar took a leap backwards, falling silently down into the rapids below.

Without thinking, the silver she-cat covered in blood lunged for him, missing by a mouselength and almost falling off herself. She didn't know why she tried. Supposedly he could have just given up? No.
"Punishment... for me? Or... everyone?"
She wondered aloud. She shook her head and stepped back from the gorge. Bowing her head, Silverstar paid her respects to Sleepystar. He wasn't always crazy, after all.
I will announce his defeat at the gathering.
She returned home, to her Clan.
