Scarletfire lay in a black zone, no hint of light anywhere. The only thing you could see was her and a single dead tree. She lay underneath it, sprawled out, eyes closed contently. She was awaiting someone- to give them news. Scarletfire wasn't sure of how they'd react, but she knew they wouldn't be disappointed.

Goldflame padded calmly into the dark area. "Scarletfire," he mewed, sitting beside her and entwining his tail with hers.

Scarletfire looked up at him, her violet eyes holding no emotion. Getting up, she unraveled what she was hiding. She seemed different than before. Her belly was slightly bulged, and she waited for him to say something. "Goldflame," she replied, shifting. "What do you think of it?" The she-cat wanted to know what he thought. Was he happy?

BIC: Goldflame's eyes lit up with delight as he nuzzled her belly lightly. "I'm so excited," he nuzzled her happily, purring loudly and happily. "Are you excited?"

Scarletfire felt a rush of relief. "Yeah. Why wouldn't I be excited?" she purred, though her voice was monotonous. "How many do you think there are?" she wondered, looking down.

"Well, depends how long you've been a queen," smiled Goldflame happily. "If only a few days, maybe three or four?" He gently groomed her belly, feeling slight movements as he did so.

"I hope I at least have one daughter and one son. They'll be very loyal and strong. I'll assure you of that, Goldflame," she said, licking his forehead.

"Yes, let's hope they don't get into too much trouble!" Goldflame chuckled happily, nuzzling Scarletfire happily as he purred deeply.

Scarletfire stared at him and replied, "I'll make sure that they don't. I can be a strict parent. I hope you don't mind. I won't let my kits act foolish. I mean, just look at the other kits. They wander from camp and no one cares at all!"

"And I'll bring you prey whenever I get the time!" Goldflame purred, smiling at Scarletfire. He wondered what affect Scarletfire's dis-belief in ScarClan might make on their kits.
