Berries, berries, and SHADOWBERRIES!

Maykit saw Badgerpaw talking to Larkkit outside, and quietly creeped past them. She tiptoed into the seceret passage, and into her clearing. The berries she had had Badgerpaw gather were sitting the clearing, sitting next to carefully woven leaf baskets she had taken forever to make. She began to pour the different colors of berries into the seven buckets, blue and grey berries together, shadowberries in one, orange berries in another, blackberries in the next one, green ones in the next, the rest of the blueberries in the next, and white berries in the last. She began to mush them with a big stick with a rock attached to it, and mushed them until they were like paint. She dipped a toe of one of her paws into the black paint, and began to create outlines of two catlike figures. About three hours later, Maykit sat before a drying berry dye painting of Badgerpaw with both completely unmarked eyes sitting down next to the river, looking up at Maykit on her back who was looking down at her. They were both smiling, and Maykit beamed with gratitude at the extremely lifelike berry painting. She looked at the berry buckets, where the berry dye supplies had been completely demolished. She ran outside the clearing, careful to avoid the square painting on the ground, and bowled into Badgerpaw, inable to stop. "Badgerpaw, come with me! Larkkit, stay here, and she and I will be back in a minute or so!" and she rushed off behind the nursery and waited behind it.

Badgerpaw looked at Maykit with a confused look, and got to her paws, and followed her. "What, is it Maykit?"

"You'll see.." she meowed excitedly and pushed aside the curtain of vines, that looked just like the rest of the wall. Inside was a tunnel, with a bright light at the end of it.

Larkkit blinked in surpise as Maykit ran into Badgerpaw. He just sat there quietly as Badgerpaw got up and followed Maykit. He was a little confused, but just sat there like Maykit told him too.

Badgerpaw looked at Maykit with a confused look, but padded down the tunnel and stopped at the end of it, wanting to know what this was about.

Maykit lead her carefully into the clearing, where the painting had completely dried since she had gotten Badgerpaw. "Ta-da!" she mewed and puffed her chest out in pride. There was laying the beautifully lifelike painting, where there was seven leaf buckets sitting next to it that were all covered with paint. Dots of dye were all over the place, and there were little dye pawprints everywhere from where Maykit had gotten paint on her paws.

OOC: Oh, and I forgot to add. There was a pile of shadowberries sitting next to them, and Maykit had her tongue out and it was bright blue-violet. And one of her paws was mostly blue-violet, too. And it was getting Badgerpaw's back all sticky. And some of the paint had been eaten <3

Badgerpaw smiled as she looked at the painting, and wrapped her tail around Maykit and pulled her over to her. "I love it," she purred, and licked the top of Maykit's head like a mother would.

"I knew you would!" and ran over to one of the buckets. A few berries were sitting next to it uncrushed for a purpose. She hurled one into Badgerpaw's face, and padded out of the clearing like she just hadn't done that, with a few berries on a small section of vine hanging out of her mouth.

Badgerpaw blinked at Maykit, and quickly shook what was left of the berries off of her head and ran after her. "Come back here!"

Maykit laughed through the vine and ran, nearly running into Larkkit in the same manner as Badgerpaw. She hoped Badgerpaw would cover the hole back up after she came out, and sat down next to Larkkit. She dropped the vine and plucked one of the six remaining berries off. "Want one?" she meowed to Larkkit, thinking she'd probably like it.

Larkkit looked at Maykit in surpise. He had never really talked to her, even thought they were both kits. He looked at the berry, and thought for a moment. "I-I guess..." he meowed, and quickly ate the berry. He let out a small purr. "It's great! What is it?"

"I really don't know, because I found these by stumbling into a pile in the clearing not too long ago. Badgerpaw found a huge clearing of bushes with them, and nobody got mad at me for running into them and nobody claimed they knew what they were after we asked around. I named them Shadowberries, because of their purple color. But they don't taste shadowy at all! They're my favorite berry. I once tried them in a mouse, and it made the mouse three times better :)

Larkkit looked at Maykit, his tail wrapped around his paws. "Really? That's cool!" he meowed, his shyness disappearing as he talked. "I wish I could go to that clearing with all the shadowberries, but I am only like a moon old..."

Badgerpaw walked up to them, and smiled. "Don't worry, Larkkit, I am sure you will be a apprentice in no time!" she purred, sitting next to Maykit.

"Badgerpaw's gonna be my mentor! I should be getting to be apprenticed soon."
