Fooled Again...

Hawkpath sat where she always would, at the edge of the gorge, peering in at time to time. She looked at the sky, which was skidded with long streaks of white. A small breeze blew inter her brown tabby fur. It was all too peaceful, until out of the roaring waters of the gorge sounded a small mewling of a kit. She peered inside once more, revealing a small, damp ball of fur, mewling for it's life. Hawkpath had to do something, so she followed the kit to where it was being swifted away to. She tried to find a way to get down onto the rocks, but it was no use. She kept following it, running and running. She just gave up and lept to where the kit was. The kit just stared at her. The water wasn't sweeping it away anymore, then all of a sudden, the kit just vanished. Hawkpath had fallen into the gorge. She struggled to keep her head up above the water, but the waves were too big and she was in terrible pain. Blood rushed out of her, excellerated by the water. The sky darkened. "Oh StarClan... Oh.... StarClan no...." She rasped as her body went fully underwater. Goodbye... RiverClan... Her body washed up onto the side of the gorge as her soul rose up to StarClan. She looked below and cried.

Hollywhisper's starry black fur and bright eyes glittered. "Welcome, Hawkpath. Welcome to StarClan," she meowed.

"Hello Hollywhisper." Hawkpath mewed. She siged silently.

Sparrowpaw had been out running to the river with Badgerpaw, to practice their fishing. She toppled over a hill and froze at the sight before her. "Hawkpath!" she shrieked, rushing over.

Badgerpaw stopped when she heard her sister meow, and she padded after her, but freezing when she saw the body of Hawkpath. Oh StarClan what had happen? She raced after her sister, tears in her eyes.

"Is... is she- ?" Sparrowpaw looked at the drenched she-cat, then at her sister with wide, fearful eyes.

Rosejade appeared. She had secretly watched the whole thing. "There's no helping her, Sparrowpaw. I wish there was. I wish there was. But she's not gone forever."

Badgerpaw looked at Rosejade. "Sh-should we get her back to camp?" She whispered, her eyes wide with fear. She had never seen a dead body before, and never thought that she would.

"Greetings Ebonyroot." She mewed.

Ebonyroot, being perfectly alive and miserable in the elders den, was completely clueless to the horror her daughters were facing.

"W-what?! You're a medicine cat! Can't you do something? Anything!?" Sparrowpaw didn't answer Badgerpaw, she didn't know how too.

"No, there is no reversal for death. That is soemthing nothing can heal. But only time will partially heal it," Rosejade meowed.

Badgerpaw padded toward the body of Hawkpath, her eyes wide. She hadn't really known the medicine cat, but she was still upset. She poked the still body. Still not believing that this had happen.

"How did this happen?" She muttered miserably. Hawkpath was the cat that found them, took them to RiverClan... StarClan, this sucked... "So should we....- ?" she questioned her sister.

Badgerpaw leaned down, and grabbed the scruff of Hawkpath, and tried to pull her toward the RiverClan camp, getting some ways away from the river, before looking at her sister and Rosejade. "A little help?" She meowed though the brown fur.

Sparrowpaw nodded quietly and helped picked up Hawkpath, dragging her along with her sister to RiverClan.
