Letting the Time go By

Deadfrost hopped out of a prickly thorn thicket and hopped onto one of the few sun-rocks that was on ThunderClan's side of the river. A little breeze of flower petals danced past him, and he sneezed when one landed in his nose. It shot into the bubbling river and drifted away. Like time.
Where was Leopardheart? Was Goldenstar okay? Who would speak at the next Gathering?
And what of Silverpaw?

OOC: He doesn't know she's a warrior. ;p

"What are you doing here?"
The voice of a she-cat floated through the air.
"I thought you were ThunderClan's eldest warrior. Don't they need you?"
It was Silversoul, Deadfrost's daughter. She was laying farther up the river, a paw in the water, hunting for fish when she scented him.

He raised his head and blinked twice. "Our prey is fine right now, and ShadowClan and WindClan are quiet," he responded casually, and yawned. He was unsure if you should tell her about Leopardheart. "So, Silverpaw. How's RiverClan?"

OOC: if you should tell her? XD

IC:
"I'm not Silverpaw anymore. I'm Silversoul now. RiverClan's good. I'm glad ThunderClan is ok. Could you do my Clan a big favor and keep that metal-legged fool away from our border? She stops by every day and taunts us when she's no right to. Just yesterday she brought Shinepaw with her. Even though she's supposed to be a Medicine cat apprentice, she joins in too."
She licked a paw.

"A warrior, hm? That's wonderful." Deadfrost then sat up and frowned, rolling his eyes. "I'm aware of this problem, as well. I need to get Goldenstar to send her hunting instead of border patrols. She'll be a trouble to all the other Clans in no time." He flicked a cricket off that had ventured too far up his tail, and gave it a lick. "

"She tells me she cannot hunt."
She said, snorting.
"Why make her a warrior if the only good she can do for her Clan is show up at borders and disrespect others? I don't see Leopardheart telling her to back off anymore. I don't understand why, but she must be too busy hunting to deal with her."

Deadfrost swallowed a hard lump in his throat. How can I explain..?
He had to tell her. There was no point in making Leopardheart look bad.
"Silversoul... Leopardheart has been presumed gone.. I haven't scented her for at least six days. It can only be true, because she's deputy. She wouldn't just disappear. She was most likely killed. And Goldenstar... is distraught. I don't know what to do." He closed his eyes. "I have no one to share this with. It feels like I'm running the Clan, but that's Goldenstar's job!" He hung his head.

Her ears pricked. Was ThunderClan falling apart? She bowed her head in respect of Leopardheart, and wondered how she could help. She couldn't just let ThunderClan crumble and do nothing about it!
"I want to help, I really do. But I don't know how. How many warriors and apprentices do you have?"
She asked, suddenly.

He raised an eyebrow. "Um... not as many as we used to. A couple disappeared and several died." What is she thinking?

Fear burst through her for her old Clanmates.
"You must have trouble hunting with so little warriors! Do you need fish? You're welcome to some- so long as no other RiverClan cats are around."
COncern was easlily identified in her voice.

"We have prey, don't worry," he murmured. "Lots," the cat added.

She calmed down.
"No sickness? No trouble with dogs?"
She asked, just to make sure.

"Of course not. I haven't the slightest clue why so many have disappeared." He gave his chest a quick washing, then looked back up. "You know, your aunt lived in ThunderClan. Her name was Sunset; my last sibling." He sighed. "She died a while ago, though. Killed by a..er..rogue."

"I know. I remember her, from the days of the nursery. And her scent. She always had this marshy scent on her. But you had to smell really, really hard. And if you concentrated deeply on her voice, you could tell she was depressed. But I never knew why..."
She shook her head.
"Of course she wasn't really my aunt. I just wish she was."

"I know," he breathed.
Silence for a few moments, then it was broken. "Silversoul, have you ever considered returning home?" he asked quietly.
