Shadowsong was lying out in the sun warming her dark, gleaming fur when she finally realized that her kit was resting not too far from her. Pushing herself up onto her paws, she padded over to Mountainpaw. "How is your leg doing?" She asked concerned like any mother would.

Shrikekit blinked from his spot in the nursery. He saw a black tail, the tail of Shadowsong, wiggling. He beamed, wriggling his hindquarters. He leapt with a battle cry, pouncing on her tail.

Shadowsong laughed as she felt the weight of the small kit on the end of her tail. With a small nod to Mountainpaw, she decided to play along with Shrikekit. "Oh no! He's got me!" She yowled jokingly.

Carefully she plopped down onto the ground so that she was now lying on her side pretending to be the Thunderclan cat Shrikekit wanted her to be. "You got me! You're a great warrior!" She mewed.

She smiled before standing up again and shaking out her pelt. "Yes you will be!" She purred. She then turned back to Mountainpaw. "Does the bite hurt any?"

"Bite?" Shrikekit asked, running over to Mountainpaw. "What did you get bit by? A mountain lion? An enemy cat? I bet it was so cool!" he squeaked, bouncing around the apprentice.
