Nightpaw and the tree

Nightpaw ran quietly to the large tree. When he stopped by it's base he stared up at it's large branches and wondered if he could climb it.

OOC: eh... why not? ^^

Shadowsong, finally after coming back to her own territory and feeling like she was home again, was out on a walk in search of anything she could use to help rebuild the destroyed camp: brambles, moss, tree limbs, anything. She didn't even notice Nightpaw nearby.

Nightpaw put his front paws on the tree, preparing to climb, but then he thought he smelled a faint and odd scent. He dropped to all fours and sniffed the ground more carefully, He smelled blood. Nightpaw takes a step from the spot, the scent was several moons old. He thought he heard a cat near a branch, He looked up to see a faded figure of a calico she-cat.

Finally Shadowsong heard the small thump of Nightpaw's paws hitting the ground. She quickly hurried to a stray bush near the base of one of the trees to watch the Skyclan apprentice.

Nightpaw back up a couple taillengths and fluffled his fur out, still looking at the faded figure.

The faded figure lept down from the tree in one effortless bound and moved her gaze to Shadowsong.

OOC: Can she see the ghost cat?? o.o

Shadowsong stared at Nightpaw in utter confusion. Surely he hadn't spotted her unless she had lost some of her skills while she was staying in the nursery. So, if it wasn't her then what was he so nervous about?

OCC: If you want her to, pic in my first life.


IC: Nightpaw stepped a bit ferther and his tail brushed against a bush. The figure walked towards him and stopped, not going far from the tree,"Watch out behind you..." She meowed. Nightpaw turned and looked confused to just see a bush.

The she-cat froze as Nightpaw's gaze practically locked with hers. As quietly as she could, she stepped backwards to try to sneak out of the back of the bush only to step on and snap a twig. "Mouse-dung..." She hissed as she sighed heavily and came out of her hiding spot.

Nightpaw gave Shadowsong a shocked look,"A shadowclan cat....?" He looked behind him at the calico figure, then back at Shadowsong,"You hunting or something?" He meowed,"Won't catch anything when your that loud."

Shadowsong glared at the Skyclan apprentice and let out a low growl from deep in her chest. "Skyclan: As curious as always." With a heavy sigh, she turned to face Shadowclan territory again. "Like I would give away what I'm doing to a mere apprentice." She spat.

"Sounds fair." He meowed, then he turned around to face the other cat,"Who are you?" He meowed at her.

She took a few steps towards her own territory when she heard him speak again. "Oh, I'm--" She stopped suddenly when she realized he wasn't talking to her, but someone else who must have been in the area. Quickly, she took in a deep breath to try to pick out any other scents that were around them, but she could only discern the ordinary smells of the forest and marsh. Who was this cat talking to?

A voice sounded, it was full of sorrow and pain, and it came out ragged,"my name....Is Deathowl..."

Nightpaw fluffed his fur out,"D-deathowl?" He took a couple steps back.

That caught Shadowsong's attention. Never had she heard a voice without a body. Her head jerked around suddenly to stare back at Nightpaw. "Deathowl? Who was that?" She muttered softly, her tail flicking back and forth to show her curiosity.

Deathowl walked past nightpaw and touched Shadowsong's muzzle with her tail,"Shhhh! Do you want to scare ALL The prey away!" She hissed,"I'm right here!"
