All the Fresh-Kill goes Bad (Part 1/2)

Lionclaw padded up to the fresh-kill pile. He picked up a silvery fish. but when he picked it up it was all mooshy and it slowly fell apart back on to the pile. A couple of other prey squished and maggots were crawling around. "Eww! Pinestar will you please come here for a minute." he meowed loudly to his leader kind of rudely but it was his mother too.

Pinestar crinkled her nose at the stench as she came out from behind him. "What is it, Lionclaw? Hm.. glad you called me over here. I was starting to get pretty hungry," she meowed, bending down to get a fish. It quickly slipped from her grasp and plopped onto the ground with a sickening splat. Many maggots spilled from it and she took a step back.

Darkblood was walking over to eat, he pick up a mouse and it fell apart with maggots spilling out "The food is ruined!" he hissed

"Lionclaw-" she gasped. She looked at Darkblood. "I'll gather the apprentices on a Hunting Patrol.. we can't live with rotten food!" she hissed. She nudged a fish, and it seemed pretty solid. She took it in her jaws and set it at her paws. "There are still some good ones left over. Darkblood. Try to find the good prey without maggots," she meowed.

"Ok" Darkblood meowed me searched through the prey and found a mouse and went over to the warrior den to eat

After endless tries, almost all of the prey was smushed underneath her paws, and she only saved 3 pieces of prey.

"What happened to all the prey?" Hawkpath said hungrily. She looked at the pile of magots. "Eww!!" She hissed, with a grossed look.

Silverpaw emerged from the apprentice's den, yawning. She stopped in mid-gape, smelling a foul scent. Finishing the yawn, she walked over to the smushed peices of fresh kill, sniffing each carefully.
"Something here is not right."
She said, opening her mouth to get a better smell despite the repulsive stench.
"Not only is it spoiled... it appears that there's something else. And a hint of twoleg..."
She observed. After nosing a few peices, she found several maggots.
"Repulsive!"
She exclaimed.

Pinestar helped wipe some maggot juice from Silverpaw's nose (xD). "We need to go on a Hunting Patrol soon before we all starve," she mewed.

"I'll go on a hunting Patrol, but first, I need two or three cats to bring this crow-food to the gorge so we don't have to smell that horrible stench ever again." he meowed. "Or we could bring it to Thunderclan territorry!" He laughed sarcasticly.

"I'll help put it in the gorge. I may not be too helpful hunting,"
She said, swiping up all the mashed... well, goop? (XD)
"Perhaps we should tuck it under our chins instead of picking it up with our mouths..."
If it doesn't desintigrate first

icepaw walked over to the fresh kill pile. she took a mouse and bit into it and swallowed. then she looked down at her prey and saw half eaten maggots. she then blew chunks ran to the dirtplace. (fail)

Hawkpath hissed furiously as some maggots crawled up her paw. She shook them away instantly.

Leafpaw walked out of the apprentice den,she had healed enough to leave the med den.She looked around with her good eye and saw Pinestar and everyone gathered around the freshkill pile she looked walked over and saw maggots and squishy prey.The stench reached her nose and it was enough to make her gag.She meowed in disgust."What happened?Why is the fresh kill all rotten?"

"We don't know" Lionclaw meowed. "I need help with people to bring that cr*p crowfood to the gorge."
