| Rated:M Developers:Activision/Treyarch Platformer Played on:Xbox360 Difficulty:Regular Hello, everyone. Welcome to my first review. Today, I'll be reviewing Call of Duty:Black Ops, a game I beat recently. The review shall be shrouded in a spoiler, rated in the categories Graphics, Gameplay, Action, Story and Plot, Characters, and Overall. Please don't read if you plan on getting the game, or if you haven't beaten it: - Spoiler:
GRAPHICS These are the same type of graphics from Modern Warfare, so nothing new. Though, it still doesn't mean they are bad. You know perfectly well you killed someone from the blood that spatters everywhere. The only thing is, they still didn't fix the old first person shooters glitch, where dead people look as it they are kneeling, or even standing. But oh well, no one is perfect. :D
Graphics Rating:8.5
GAMEPLAY Smoothest sh*t ever. Well, not really, but close to it. You are able to move easily, with an aim that moves just a bit too fast. Though, you easily do get used to this, and are able to mow down people with ease. Oh speaking of mow down, I love the Nazi Zombies mode. It is fun to watch JFK arm himself with a semi-automatic rifle. :3 Anyhow, the controls are easy to use, and you are supplied with a lot of cool objectives to complete. Though, I am glad computers can kill enemies, also. No one likes one man army games D:
Gameplay Rating:9.0
ACTION
This is an action packed game, with bullets flying around every corner. There is so much action, actually, that sometimes, it takes a couple seconds for you to find exactly who is shooting at you. Also, there are a few objectives where you can commit silent kills. Who doesn't like sneaking up behind someone and stabbing them in the back of the neck, or to slice a main blood vessel with a tomahawk :DD Anyhow, I never forgot how cruel I was by killing those pigs and monkeys D:
Action Rating:9.2
STORY
A really shocker, it is, to find out Mason (protagonist) is brainwashed by Dragovich. (Sounds a bit like Bioshock, if you tell me) Basically, the whole game is a full-fledged flashback. Mason is weak. A couple shocks and he blabs the whole story .3. Thanks for actually making me play the game, Mason! >:C Jk, the story is basically about Black Ops Agent, Mason, going through a sad story, watching his team die off one by one, in the hands of Dragovich. And what really kills me, is the little brainwashing thing. Wow, I actually never suspected it. (No sarcasm) I enjoyed walking through the rooms all delirious, watching flashbacks and all too familiar numbers float by me.
Story Rating:8.7
CHARACTERS
Mason is an epic one. But enough about the protagonist, lets look at some of the team. Reznov was okay at first, but grew on me. I enjoyed playing as him through the Arctic Level in Northern Russia. I was sad, though, to find out he died in the beginning of the game. Bummer! Woods was awesome. I remember the famous line I had to play over and over again: "Mason, blow a hole in that f*cking wall" I thought he'd be there through the whole game, but he died near the end. Stop sacrificial b*tch D: Bowman was nothing special. He actually was annoying, because accidental friendly fire made him go: "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" He died by a wrench to the head though, soooo. That's all I'll do in the review. All in all, the characters were great!
Character Rating: 9.4
[b]OVERALL
All in all, this was a great game. I had an awesome time blowing up cars, oh, and people too! :D No, seriously, I suggest all you people who don't mind spoilers to get it. It will make your life complete. Call of Duty:Black Ops forever beats Halo:Reach .3.' (Dun ask me why I used that game..) Anyhow, we love you Mason, and you keep on blwing up that f*cking wall ;D
Overall Rating: 9.3
