Oooooooh, SWIFTY!!

Rainstar searched the camp, excited for, what she didn't know then, the last time.

Swiftshadow was eating by the fresh-kill pile, eyes dull.

Rainstar approached him cautiously.
"Swiftstar, I have some news," she mewed.

He looked up at her bleakly. "Hmm?" He asked, though his eyes sparked slightly as he saw his mate.

This still made her catch her breath, everytime.
"I'm expecting another litter," she gushed excitedly.

His eyes brightened alot, but his voice was still fairly dull. "Do you know how many? "

"Around 2, I believe," she said, but the excitement was gone. "What's wrong?"

(He's upset about Jay >.>" You didn't say that. )

Swiftshadow's eyes gleamed for the first time in days. "Oh Rainstar, i'm so glad I still have you. When will the kits be born? "

Rainstar shrugged.
"Hopefully soon," she commented. "I don't want to be held back from leading my clan."

(I know, but it's supposed to be obvious. Saying that would be like teasing him .-.)

He shrugged. Then his eyes darkened. "Rainstar, there's something you should know... I had a prophecy from Starclan about us, I think, and it's not pretty. The rain shall cease and the shadow burn, but the wind shall still blow. " He said anxiously.

Rainstar blinked slowly.
"That doesn't sound good," she said carefully.

"No... It doesn't. Rainstar, If something happens to us, we need to think of something for the kits. " He murmured slowly, as he leaned forward to nuzzle Rainstar on the shoulder, his bones creaked with age. Only then did he realize just how old he was. "Gosh, I just remembered... I'm almost 12 years old now... "

(He's 3 in human years. Every Human year is 4 cat years. )

Rainstar sighed.
"Then this will be my last litter, if it makes it," she mewed.

"Something like 100 moons... " He muttered, then cuffed her around the ear. "They'll be fine, i'm sure."

Rainstar merely twitched an ear.
"If you say so," she mewed.
