Mistypaw was sitting in the middle of camp. She didn’t want to interact with anyone; she was just like that. She felt more comfort in being alone, left to her thoughts. But she guessed she wouldn’t get anywhere if she didn’t talk to anyone. She let a sigh escape her breath. She would just do her own thing, no matter what other cats thought. But she didn’t want them to worry. Her mother always told her she should interact with other cats more and would try to nudge her out of the nursery to play with the other kits. But she never listened to her. Would other cats think of her as weird if she never interacted with them? She guessed she was just more introverted than others. But maybe it would be better for herself if she talked more and made a friend.

Dandelionpaw

Dandelionpaw was adding his first freshkill to the pile after returning from his first hunt with Sootstorm - a very clumsily caught vole. Now what? he wondered. His muscles felt stiff, but Sootstorm had returned to other duties, leaving Dandelionpaw without further instructions. His yellow gaze flickered around camp, landing on Mistypaw, in the center of the clearing. What is she doing?

Looking around, Dandelionpaw couldn't find his mother. Perhaps she was out on a patrol, enjoying her life after returning to the warrior's den. A life where she could pretend Dandelionpaw, her only son, didn't even exist. At least then she wouldn't have to listen to the rumors about how strange her only kit was behaving. But, instinctually, Dandelionpaw made his way to Mistypaw, driven by his mother's old words that echoed in his mind. Don't be weird, go make friends. At least pretend to be normal.

Stifling a sigh, he approached the she-cat and sat down next to her, not touching her pelt, and glared across the camp at nothing in particular. He didn't utter a word, but instead decided to join in on her silence. This way, at least he would be doing nothing with someone else. This counts, right?
