Larkpaw padded up to an opening and sat taking in all the scents and voices coming from the different clan cats. Everything was so busy and there were so many cats all gathered around, she didn't know how to handle it all.
This was the calmest Larkpaw had been since her golden eyes had opened. The only reason she wasn't running around and getting to know everyone is because her mother had warned her not to go bothering cats from other clans. Oatpaw is beginning to feel ill.
Oatpaw was only half listening to his mentor as he looked around the meeting place. It was a miracle he registered anything she said. "No fighting, got it!"He exclaimed, his gaze never once meeting Quickfrost's as he surveyed the scene. There were so many cats here! So many potential friends! He felt like his heart might beat right out of his chest as he looked around. Is this all the Clans? By StarClan, this isn't even every cat!
When he was finally done marvelling at the scene, he turned back to look at Quickfrost, only to realize she . . . wasn't there. Oatpaw sighed as he watched her stark white form travel through the crowd, weaving between cats until she settled down by a molly he didn't recognize. It was starting to hit him that he didn't recognize very many cats in the crowd at all. Is WindClan that small?
His fellow WindClan apprentices had abandoned him, too, so he was left to his own devices. Anxiety began to prick at him in the distant corner of his mind. He'd never had to go up and just . . . introduce himself to cats before. Oatpaw swallowed hard. Take a deep breath. We can find someone. He surveyed the crowd once more - slowly this time, looking for any cat who was sitting alone and, preferably, in his age group.
There.
A cream tom, looking rather in need of a friend. He sat on his own - near a group of cats that Oatpaw could only assume were medicine cats. Not close enough to give the impression of belonging to them, but as though he felt like that was where he was supposed to sit. Oatpaw perked up, his ears twitching and tail raising in excitement, waving behind him without a care. He weaved between the cats, flicking his tail at those he passed in greeting, and settled down by the tom.
"Hey there!" Oatpaw flicked his ears forward, eyes glimmering with excitement. Not once did the thought of rejection cross his mind. Those around him had always been his friends and allies, so why should this tom be any different? He wondered what Clan he was from, what his name was, why he was sitting all alone - not whether or not the cat would accept him. "I'm Oatpaw! I'm from WindClan."
Is that how cats normally introduce themselves? He wondered briefly, then dismissed it as absurd. Briefly, though, he found himself self-conscious of his large paws, short legs, and fluffy coat. He hardly looked WindClan at all. Looking up, though, the tom didn't seem to be looking at him all that much.
He probably doesn't care. I'm just being silly. Oatpaw brought himself into a sitting position, settling down and curling his tail around his paws. It was as if he were saying - see? I'm not going anywhere. Oatpaw only hoped this cat would get the message. "What's your name?" The apprentice asked, pupils widening with curiosity.
Oatpaw has approached Bearpaw!

Wolfblossom shot Mintglade a stern stare as she spoke up, but the she-cat at least seemed to back down quickly.
Acornstem, who had not beelined for the brewing fight, finally deigned to join her fellow deputy, though only to echo Wolfblossom's words. And... There was a sense of something in her gaze as she stood next to Wolfblossom. Anger? Insecurity? Perhaps embarrassment that the Skyclanner had gotten to them first. Whatever it was, it was the Thunderclanner's problem to deal with.
Mottlestar's voice split the air, and Wolfblossom sighed quietly to herself. The announcements being started would hopefully distract their antagonistic warriors from each other if the deputies' words did not. And they were announcements that Wolfblossom was very much interested in hearing.
Satisfied that no further drama would be started, at least not by her own warriors, Wolfblossom gave the two a short nod and returned to her position among the deputies, offering a soft, "Apologies," to Sablestrike and Sootstorm. Her eyes lifted to the leaders, taking note of Mottlestar's new warrior, of Thunderclan settling into a new camp. Yes, the medicine cats were making progress on this strange illness that seemed to be affecting so many. Poppyshine had new kits and a new apprentice... And supposedly not many of their cats were too ill. Not many, perhaps, but their most important cat was conveniently absent from tonight's proceedings. With her condition while just arriving at the lake, Wolfblossom couldn't say she was surprised... And perhaps Skyclan's luck would hold.
Windclan had undergone the most change, as Tigerdance confirmed. The tom's offer of assistance drew a twitch of Wolfblossom's ear. His clan had been going through plenty of turmoil, and from what Wolfblossom had seen they were still quite small. But perhaps a bit of cooperation wouldn't be such a terrible thing. Their territory in this newfound lake did share a boundary... And Windclan was, as far as Wolfblossom was aware, neutral. Perhaps they could be swayed to help Skyclan, should the need arise.
Leopardstar and then Birdstar spoke, and it seemed Shadowclan was in much the same holding pattern that the other clans had found themselves in with this new territory. Settling in, cats sick, medicine cats working hard, new apprentices.

Swanpaw only half-paid attention as the Skyclan deputy seemed catch sight of some brewing trouble, abandoning her place among the others to speak to what looked like some warriors about to get into it. One of them looked like Thunderclan, but Swanpaw guessed that the others were her own clanmates. If Thunderclan and Skyclan wanted to fight each other, they were more than welcome to do so. The Thunderclan deputy took a few moments to join the larger one of Skyclan, and then Mottlestar had called the gathering to begin.
Swanpaw turned her head from the deputies, gaze landing on Owlcall... Who also didn't seem to be paying attention to the gathering. He was moving... Away, and Swanpaw's blue eyes followed the trajectory of his steps.
The sight of a familiar - if more ragged than Swanpaw remembered - pelt had Swanpaw abandoning any pretense of listening to Poppyshine or the leaders speak, pale paws moving quickly as she very nearly tackled her sister. "Pigeonpaw!" Swanpaw cried out, "Where have you been? Oh foxdung, we couldn't find you after the storm and thought--" Her voice cracked as words came fast, and Swanpaw shook her head, "Don't do that again you absolute mousebrain." Practically shoving past Dovepaw and Scarletpaw - who she would get to, once the shock of seeing her sister wore off - Swanpaw pressed against Pigeonpaw and Dovepaw, a choked sob escaping her.

Eaglefly and stormwatcher were both running very late to the gathering and funnily enough, they spotted each other walking towards the gathering and decided to go together.
“How’s skyclan doing?” Eagle asked trying to be friendly
“We are fine as ever!” Storm nearly snapped back not wanting to discuss the sickness at all or that his clan had nearly entirely been wiped off the face of the lake if it had not been for the cure being found
Eagle laid his ears back a bit annoyed and defensive. “That’s, good to hear. Anyways I’m eaglefly”
“Stormwatcher” the gruff grumble of a reply came.
“I got an ideas! I was looking around earlier and saw a big old hill out a bit ways from the lake, I bet we could go sliding on it after this if you wanna!” He purred thinking about his old home windclan with the moor lands… in fact how had he never thought of this before, with the snow on the hill it would make for the bestest slip and slide ever created!
Stormwatcher blinked not sure if the windclan cat was pulling his tail or joking but he sounded dead serious… he shrugged… it did sounds kinda fun he couldn’t lie. “It’s a deal and last one down the hill owes a prey” they both jokingly agreed and settled in next to one another for the gathering.
“Did we miss the announcements?” Eagle asked worriedly
“Stars I hope so!” Storm yawned in response

Molehill sat amongst his clanmates and stayed clear of any drama. While the plump tom was social with his own clan members, he still found himself fairly wary and shy around the other clans.
Bearpaw's tail twitched idly as the leaders made their announcements, his blue eyes roving across the distant horizon with a bored sort of listlessness. Why did he bother coming to these things anyway? It wasn't as if he was expected to, not as a regular apprentice, and there were plenty of other medicine cats to represent Skyclan. The tom's gaze slid to the Thymepaw and his nose crinkled with open distaste. Smokepetal had to stay behind at the camp - he was beginning to wish he'd followed in her pawsteps. As much as he disliked the other clans, sitting among them was at least more interesting than being banished to the edge of the clearing with the pacifists.
Then, as his attention was drawn to Birdstar's announcement, he noticed a shape from the corner of his vision - some cat moving suspiciously fast in his direction. Rotating his head to stare incredulously as the swiftly approaching tom, Bearpaw resisted the urge to show his teeth and blinked, partially expecting the tom to breeze past him. He, however, did not, and instead plopped down right beside Bearpaw, all smiles and cheer. Ugh. Another needlessly sunny cat for him to fend off. He was getting rather bored of this.
The scent of the newcomer managed to delay the unavoidable snip of Bearpaw's annoyance and, instead, he opted to simply narrow his eyes expectantly. A Windclanner...how odd. Skyclan and Windclan had never been particularly close, so what purpose did the young tom have in approaching him? It shouldn't shock him, really, that the other clans didn't know to keep to themselves. With a sniff, Bearpaw lifted his chin, suspicious. "Windclan - I could tell by your smell." He grumbled. The stink of rabbit and windblown fur all but gave it away.
Bearpaw diverted his attention toward Birdstar, hoping silently that she would call for Skyclan to return to their camp, but she did no such thing. Even worse, Oatpaw seemed determined to bother him. Ear twitching, Bearpaw turned back to the younger apprentice. "Well, I'm Bearpaw of Skyclan." Not for much longer, but he left that bit out. If Starclan truly intended for him to go to Windclan, Oatpaw and the rest of the moor-runners would find out soon enough anyway.
It was lucky the tom had come to him this gathering and not during any other time. Now that Bearpaw knew where his fate may lay, he was somewhat more inclined to humor his chatter. "So, Oatpaw was it? How long have you been an apprentice?" A smirk wormed its way onto Bearpaw's face as he looked the other cat up and down. "You look...hmm. I've killed mice that look tougher than you" He hissed, a mocking glimmer in his eye.

Oatpaw angled his ears toward the other tom, curious and fascinated by him. He hadn't met many - er, any other apprentices outside of his own Clanmates, and he wondered if they were all like this. A bit unfriendly and, well, frankly jaded. Oatpaw didn't quite understand. Why would any cat be mean?
Perhaps Bearpaw was just anxious, and unused to making friends. Yes, that must be it. Though he was older than Oatpaw, the tom seemed almost...suspicious of him. Doesn't he know the Clans should be friendly? Oatpaw dwelled for a moment on the tension he'd witnessed at the Gathering so far. Nobody was outright arguing, but he wasn't so young and naive that he couldn't sense the tension between some of the cats. Maybe...maybe he was wrong. But they should be friendly, he decided. Even if not every cat was. After all, no cat ever got anywhere by arguing.
Determined once again, Oatpaw looked curiously back at Bearpaw, cocking his head to the side just slightly. "Nice to meet you, Bearpaw! I've never met a SkyClan cat before!" Oatpaw's eyes widened in awe, and he took note of the tom's strong legs and fluffy coat. "I'd fit in better with SkyClan than I would WindClan..." He mused, noticing how, though he was smaller, his fur was almost just as thick as the other cat's.
"I've been a 'paw for almost a quarter moon now!" Oatpaw said proudly, puffing his chest out. If there was any mean spirit in Bearpaw's voice, Oatpaw certainly didn't notice it. He was too excited to be meeting a cat from a whole different Clan - and an entirely different walk of life, too! Bearpaw must have stories to share - about the medicine cats, about SkyClan, about...well, just about everything. There was so much Oatpaw didn't know. He glanced nervously toward Tigerdance, hoping desperately that there was still some news to share. He didn't want to leave just yet.
Bearpaw's teasing hiss threw him off - he wasn't mocking him, was he? Oatpaw didn't have any reason to believe the other cat would be anything but friendly. He'd been perfectly kind to him so far - at least, Oatpaw thought. He frowned. Maybe Bearpaw wasn't used to talking to other cats! He probably didn't have any ill intent. Right? He was smiling, anyway! Oatpaw shook out his pelt, straightening up and trying to push the idea of the tom's callousness from his mind. Instead, he perked his ears up, his pupils widening. "You mean you've faced tough mice? Like rats?" The excitement in his voice was audible. He gasped. "That's so cool! And you're a medicine cat! I've never even hunted a normal mouse..." He mused, looking at the tom with unmistakeable admiration.
