Though she'd been occupying herself with ShadowClan's well-being, she'd been pushing herself to check on not just the cats close to the journeying group but also dashing ahead on occasion to see if she could keep an eye on the scouts; she was now circling back from doing just that, returning to make sure that the remaining number of her Clanmates--dwindling as they were--hadn't fallen further in her absence.

She herself had been feeling slightly worse, with the sneezing that seemed to come and go with the rain and the light cough that lingered no matter what, but given that she knew she was pushing herself it could certainly have been worse. As the cats settled into their resting place for the evening, she scanned over her own; counting them by name in her mind to ensure everyone was accounted for. "Is everyone alright?"

Sunflare could see the way that all this moisture in the air was affecting his clanmates, but Leopardstar in particular seemed to be struggling. Of course, like a true leader, she didn’t let on. Only the occasional sneeze seemed to betray her. While she’d walked ahead, conferring with the scouts, the lanky warrior had been skirting the edges of the group, weaving in and out to check every face. All cats were accounted for, best he could tell. “No absences that I’ve seen, Leopardstar,” he mewed, padding up to her and meeting her gaze. “Only the scouts, and of course you’ve just been with them.”

Swiftheart sat near her apprentice Frostpaw. She wanted to make sure Frostpaw was doing alright during all of this.

When Leopardstar came over she gave her a friendly wave of her tail. "Leo" she purred happily.

"Im dong alright" she meowed with a nod, as alright as she could be given all. She was always pretty happy so even all the rain and ick was not bothering her all that much.

She nuzzled her apprentice a little bit wanting to take care of her and an eye on her. "how about you, my apprentice? you alright?"

Somehow, miraculously, Frostpaw had not yet caught much of a cold. She kept close to her mentor’s side, the glossy black feathers tucked in her fur still dripping with water. This might be the most miserable she had ever been in her life, but the small apprentice focused on putting one paw in front of the other, mind empty. At some point, water had gotten into one of her ears, but, somehow, the idea of shaking her head to get it out seemed like too much work. She’d always been slight, small, skinny, always underweight and undersized, and it seemed like this long journey was sapping every single morsel of her strength.

The brush of Swiftheart’s warm pelt against her own came as a welcome relief from the empty monotony. She nodded, dipping her head respectfully to Leopardstar (when had she come over here?) and flicking her tail lightly against her mentor’s side. Her paws ached, and her limbs felt like carven stone, but she would press on. ShadowClan would press on.

They had no other choice.

No matter how long she waited, Sunflare's attitude never stopped grating on her. Still, he was a faithful ShadowClan cat who had given her no reason to doubt his loyalty, and so Leopardstar couldn't say she had any real complaint with him other than his way of speaking and that he seemed to be seeking her favor more often than he wasn't. Still, if he was being helpful, he was being helpful; setting personal grievances with his personality aside. "Thank you, Sunflare," she nodded, keeping it brief and polite but making it clear that she was genuinely grateful for his efforts.

Everyone being safe and accounted for was a weight off her shoulders, and her attention then turned to Swiftheart--as well as her apprentice, pressed into her mentor's side. "I'm glad to hear you're doing well, Swiftheart. And you, Frostpaw." She laid herself down nearby, trying not to intrude on their space while offering herself a moment of rest. "This journey has been difficult for all of us. I'm proud of everyone for making it this far."

That last line was true, but it was mostly directed at the shy-seeming apprentice; she'd always had a soft spot for younger cats, and she wanted to make absolutely certain that Frostpaw knew her efforts to keep up with the other, older cats were appreciated.
