Scorchpaw padded along, all the tiny nook and crannies now memorised. She jumped past a stream, grumbling about being sent out to hunt by one of the senior warriors because of her little effort in hunting. It seemed futile to try, especially for one of her caliber. Her ears dropped to show her anger. The river was poisoned; it was a tradition to teach the RiverClan cats how to survive off hunting fish. While she had caught a couple of land prey, it wasn't her thing. A tiny fish squirmed in the water... it didn't die to the poison?! She leaped from her position instinctively, her jaw opening, fangs bared, and claws unsheathed. She dived into the water, feeling her paws slip on the fish. Her ears felt the bubbles flow; it was mezmorizing. Little moments like this were enjoyed by her. She felt her blood rush up, and she bobbed her head out of the water. Even if the Twolegs poisoned the tiny stream, that was one of the best moments of her life! She felt the fish slip away, and she reached out to finish it, but it slipped away. She grumbled, then jumped out of the water and found a toad. How lucky was she? She leaped into the air elegantly and pounded what she thought was the toad.
