All Star! (Closed)

((This takes place before Blazefang loses her children as it should have been posted sooner.))

Blazefang padded through the territory with her head held high. This was what she was meant to be doing! She’d always loved mentoring, ever since she’d trained Hickorypaw and Silverwing back in WindClan. Fallowpaw was a first for her in many ways, her first ThunderClan apprentice, first tom apprentice, and her first time training a single apprentice alone. But how different could it be?

When she reached her destination, the ginger she-cat stopped and turned to her apprentice. “Are you excited?”

"]Nice day, eh?" Fallowpaw trailed behind Blazefang, head swiveling this way and that to glance at wilting foilage as they walked by. A chill had begun to work its way under the apprentices pelt, so he began to shuffle his paws in retaliation. "What uh, What are we out here for again?" The pale tom quickened his pace to be alongside Blazefang, sticking his head out in front of her to meet her gaze. She seemed focused. Fallowpaw lagged behind again.

"Excited? Well I guess so, 'get to be out for awhile." He muttered when the warrior turned to meet him. "What're we here for?"

Blazefang purred in agreement. “It certainly is. I love all the colors in leaf-fall.” The colors in ThunderClan were so striking and bold, nothing like the browns of the moor at this time of year. The anticipation and confusion in her apprentice’s eyes reminded her so much of Silverwing at that age. Despite everything that had happened, she couldn’t help but miss her younger friend.

Shaking off that thought, she flashed her apprentice a smile. “Today, you’re going to catch your first prey!” she chirped happily. “Show me your best hunting crouch and we’ll get started.”

"Oh, right, right." Fallowpaw nodded, a small smile twisting the edges of his snaggle-toothed maw as he only recalling why there were there after she had reminded him. "Hunting crouch? Easy. No sweat." The tom muttered to himself, arching his back to stretch his paws out in front of himself. Eyes falling closed, he dug his claws into the dirt, inspecting the unusual amount of marks they made when he opened his eyes. "See that?" He meowed, straying from the topic. "Seven er, uh. Seven of em' for each paw. 'Bet you don't have that many claws, yea?" His amber eyes flickered up to Blazefang as he straightened his posture back up, the original request forgotten.

Blazefang purred with amusement as her apprentice became distracted. He was so much like her at that age. “Nope, I’ve just got the usual four,” Blazefang mewed, flexing her own claws. “I bet having more claws will make it easier to catch prey,” she added, gently steering back to the topic. “Let me show you the basics. We begin with a crouch. Notice that my belly and tail are off of the ground, so they don’t drag and make noise. Now, we scent the air…” Blazefang trailed off, the scent of mouse reaching her. Suddenly, she mobilized, crawling swiftly towards the target. It saw her still a tail-length off, but she leapt and made up the difference. A short chase around a bush ensued, but the mouse hadn’t bargained on facing down a cat with the speed of WindClan. Prey in her jaws, she returned to her apprentice. “Don’t be afraid to chase it,” she added, dropping her kill.

Normal hunting chances for Leaf-fall are on as this started pre-sitewide.

"Hm." Fallowpaw studied Blazefang's claws when she flexed her paws. "Sure will." He agreed, eyes falling back to his own paws before returning his ever-fading attention to the warrior. "Right, right." When Blazefang began to lecture, he made a point to pay attention, but ultimately lost focus until she dropped into a crouch and began to move. "Whattaya smell?" The apprentice half-whispered, leaning over Blazefang in an attempt to see what she was after. It was only when a brief chase ensued that Fallowpaw saw the mouse. "Didja have fun? That looked like fun, yea?" The tom asked, peering at the now fresh-kill. "You want me to do that?"

Blazefang nodded. “It certainly can be fun. Yep, it’s your turn. Go ahead and try it!”
