a dusty hollow - closed

It seemed like just last moon when Sootkit was trampling around and demanding to play with Sleepyhollow - and now Sootstorms kits were all becoming apprentices. She recalled that Sootstorm was appointed the mentor of Dustpaw, and as Sootstorm was busy with other duties today she was appointed to take him on the patrol. Blinking the sleep from her eyes the she-cat rose from her nest and stretched her limbs before exiting the warrior's den.

The sun was just rising over the distant treetops and the birds were singing their morning songs that carried over the open moor as she poked her head into the apprentice's den, "Dustpaw, let's go." she called, forcing emotion into her voice. She hadn't interacted with many of Sootstorms children and wondered if they would be as energetic as he was.

A raise of her nonexistent brow was her first reaction. Fighting? The she-cat had had enough fighting in the past moon to last a lifetime. Though as she made eye contact with Dustpaw she let out a hearty laugh, a true one. It was a sound she herself hadn't heard in a while. Her laugh was like an old friend, one she hadn't seen in a while but was welcome all the same. "Hmm. I would introduce you to Bushface but perhaps I'll save that for another time." she responded her eyes glinting with mischief at the mention of her old friend. Bushface was definitely something she would have to introduce to Dustpaw someday, he seemed like just the cat Bushface would want to meet.

"Er, actually we're on patrol to mark the borders and make sure they haven't been moved. By Shadowclan or others," she explained, nodding as she ducked out of camp. "You never know these days."
