Leopardsun was working twice as hard as she had before, redoubled efforts to prove her dedication to ShadowClan; taking the position of leader instead of tossing it to some cat who was more deserving and less prepared meant she had to work to rebuild trust that had been broken beyond proper repair. That's right, that lump of fur had turned six moons old. Tawnyshadow joined the crowd, waiting for Skunkkit to come out. He showed promise, but great Starclan was he lazy. However hard she had tried to get him motivated to do something, it seems that this was the furthest she would get. Now she just had to pray that whoever was to be Skunkkit's mentor would be able to mould him better than her.

It was a little surprising that more kits were already of age to be apprenticed. Just another reminder of the ever-present passage of time, Leopardsun supposed.

Skunkpaw padded up to his new mentor and touched noses. He was finally glad to put his energy somewhere that was useful. Most thought he was lazy as he wouldnt play with the others and only sleep.
