Patchdream yawned as she awoke in the nursery. Today was bed day and so she woke up early. But as she got to her paws she noticed she wasnt the only one awake. " Good morning ploverkit, want to help me with the den tasks today? she mewed quietly to the kit.  But look into the lake,
shimmering like smoke. The kitten lay on her side by the nursery entrance. Sleeping with her litter had gotten a bit too hot for her. The morning air was much cooler. A couple of crickets sang somewhere outside the den, along with the dawn’s first birdsong. The sky was a soft blue, her favorite.
Her head lifted and turned to Patchdream. “Good morning,” she mewed in reply, “I do.” The soft, fluffy-furred she-kit rose to her paws, and with a muffled yawn, followed the queen towards the front of camp. based on a template by #kiikko ______________________________________

Patchdream smiled down at the kit before padding towards the entrance. When she got close to the storage pile, she turned to look at ploverkit. " Now don't take more than you can carry, this will probably need more than one trip. Just pick up some moss and we will set it down at the nursery, the moss beds have to be replaced." she mewed and then picked up a bundle in her mouth. But look into the lake,
shimmering like smoke. She nodded dutifully before grabbing a moss clump of her own. Moss always felt so good on her teeth, especially when she was younger. But recently she’d been gnawing on it less and less. She supposed she was too old to teethe anymore.
Ploverkit carefully set her bundle next to Patchdream’s. As they turned back to retrieve more moss she asked the older molly, “Do you like being a queen? A permanent one, I mean. What's your favorite part?” based on a template by #kiikko ______________________________________

Patchdream padded back for the next bunch when she was asked a question. " Its great but i do miss warrior tasks sometimes. It’s fun to meet people, and it’s especially nice to help them.” The kitten gathered the remaining moss in her maw. While walking back a thought came to Ploverkit. Patchdream walked next to ploverkit back to the nursery with the last of the moss. Patchdream set it down before checking the nursery. All the kits were awake now so she turned to ploverkit. " Now we grab the old moss and take it to the dirt place. Dont forget to place the new moss down when you get back." she mewed and headed inside. Patchdream picked up the old moss from the corner of the nursery and padded out to the dirt place. After dropping it off she headed back. She grabbed the clean moss at the entrance and then went to the corner. Patchdream set the moss down and with her paws, made it into a nest. shimmering like smoke. Ploverkit followed along, replacing old moss with new just as Patchdream did. The kits didn’t pay much mind to them. She could tell they were having fun with whatever they were talking about, except for a couple. Maybe she could play something with them after she was done helping Patchdream.
The little kitten worked carefully, taking her time to enjoy the moss between her toepads. It reminded her of nice things. Eventually, the nest was finished and they moved onto another. She hoped she was of good help to the queen. based on a template by #kiikko ______________________________________

Patchdream finished up the last remaining nests on her side and turned to see ploverkit helping a lot. "That is very good, ive never seen a kit work so fast." she mewed praising the kit. "Now its time for the best part, relaxing." She mewed with a small yawn.

She was so nice and accommodating. “I’ll help you next time if you’d like.” Patchdream deserved lots of help.
