Fennelbreeze watched as a young she-kit lifted herself onto her haunches, paws wavering back and forth in what the warrior thought to be an imitation of intimidation. She recognized her as Acornkit, one of Sootstorm's she-kits from his recent litter, and seeing her play around brought a smile to her maw. Upon noticing that the dragonfly was not scared by the kit's taunting, she had a possible idea that might cheer up Acornkit, and was quick to crouch over in a hunting stalk.

Being the experienced warrior that she was, Fennelbreeze didn't take long to make a mock pounce towards the unsuspecting creature. With the quick reflexes that it bore, the dragonfly got away before either of them would've realized, flying up high to escape. Of course, she could've easily caught it if she wanted to—but she intended to entertain the she-kit, not bring her prey. So, chuckling, she faced Acornkit again and lifted her tail, grinning in greeting.

"The dragonfly's fast, huh?" She remarked, brushing her tail against Acornkit's back. "Sorry if I scared you. Were you trying to make it fly?"

Fennelbreeze felt her heart drop at the sudden exclamation of the kit, eyes widened in shock. She... killed it? Huh? Barely able to get another word in before the kit started stuttering from grief of the dragonfly's supposed death, the she-cat flattened her ears back with a flustered frown. Did Acornkit not realize that the dragonfly was still alive?

Blinking, and forcing herself back to reality, Fennelbreeze was quick to interject the kit's mewling with a point of her own. "Look!" She pointed to the dragonfly fleeing off into the distance. "It's still alive." She offered her a sheepish smile, hoping that it'd clear up the misunderstanding caused by an accidental move. "See? I didn't kill it."
