Sitting at his usual spot beside the fresh-kill pile, Fuzzface yawned. The morning sunlight shined down onto the open camp and sometimes the plump tom wished their territory was a bit more secluded and less full of the blinding light. Her first gathering since being apprenticed was the next moonhigh, and to say she was nervous would be an understatement. Brackenwing had warned her she wouldn’t like them, but Flickerpaw wasn’t sure if she should believe her or not— she wanted to form her own opinion about the matter, of course, as a warrior should.
It was too early in the morning to go hunt down Eaglefly. To be honest, it was far too early to do anything— Flickerpaw couldn’t go to sleep, and eventually she gave up around sunrise, so an attempted nap in the sun and outside of the apprentice den was in need at once. Carefully the molly made her way through camp; some warriors were out and about, beginning their patrols or taking from the fresh kill pile. One of these warriors was a large grey tom Flickerpaw had never met before, completely entranced by the prey. Flickerpaw hated untrusting onto others, especially this early in the morning, but this rom was loafing in the nicest sun spot in the entirety of camp.

| Great StarClan, it sure felt like there were a lot of apprentices in the clan these days. Having been peacefully laying in the morning sunlight alone for no longer than a few moments since waking up, the voice of a kit rang through his short ears. Opening his eyes, he locked his gaze on the tabby that had approached him. Part of him wanted to shoo here away, but he knew the queens would have his pelt if he did. Letting out a sigh, he guessed he'd have to entertain the kit for at least a little while.
"I suppose not," the plump grey warrior huffed, shuffling his paws out from under his chest so that they rested stretched out in front of him. |
