❖ Brookstonewoke up with a lighter feeling in her chest. Newleaf always brought the best hunting so, in her opinion, it was the best time to train an apprentice. Now that Sunpaw was her new minio—erm, apprentice, Brookstone's duties now seemed much more invigorating. Gone were the slow, droning, patterns of normal warrior life. She now had much more to look forward to. She had certainly missed being a mentor. ღ
❖ Witha spring in her step, the brown tabby molly made her way over to the apprentice's sleeping place. It was still quite early in the morning but not overly so. The camp was just beginning to come to life with more and more warriors and apprentices exiting their nests to start their days. Brookstone quickly scanned the nests and found her young, orange companion and then made her way over to him. She carefully prodded his resting form. "Sunpaw? Wakey, wakey, it's time for trainin'! We're goin' huntin'! Get yourself ready and meet me by the camp's entrance." She added one more poke before walking away and toward the meeting place. ღ
❖ Oncethe senior warrior made it to the camp's entrance, she sat down and began to wait. Sunpaw was normally a buzzing presence so she assumed that he'd be there very soon. She couldn't wait! Fishing was something she loved to do very much and it was even better when she could teach others how to! She was one of the camp's best hunters, after all. ღ

Riverclan Camp
Sunpaw had been curled into a little ball when a paw poked him awake. He lifted his head and blinked blearily eyes up at Brookstone uncomprehendingly for a minute. He sat there in a sleepy daze, before he registered her words and remembered yesterday’s events. Oh! He’s in the apprentice den now! He’s going to go out on the territory! Brookstone’s his mentor! All wonderful and exciting things, shaking the last of his lethargy right off and sending him flying to his feet.
Sunpaw only paused long enough to give himself a cursory groom. He glanced around for Rookpaw and Larkpaw for a moment, and allowed himself a smile before he raced outside the den. The blast of fresh morning air outside woke him up further, and he found himself smiling. Keep moving forward. Just keep moving forward.
He ran to Brookstone’s side, giving her a bright grin that showed off his snaggly teeth. “Sunpaw the Daring, reporting for duty!” He cheered as he skidded to a stop beside Brookstone, giving her a big grin. “What are we going to do first??” He asked eagerly.
