A Quick Hunt [OPEN Hunting]

Stoneheart followed the patrol out into the forest, content to keep quiet for the moment. The rain earlier in the day had stopped, and hopefully that meant they could catch prey while they had the chance.

Spotting a bird in the branches above, the fluffy she-cat carefully made her way toward it, leaping fron branch to branch. It seemed she wasn't the only one who was out hunting however, and she had only a heartbeat of warning as claws dug into her shoulders. The hawk let out a screech, and Stoneheart dropped to the ground, bringing the hawk with her. She was too heavy for it to lift, but the hawk seemed to not care.

Stoneheart attempted to catch a bird. Catch was unsuccessful and summoned a hawk!

I will give you, the reader, one (1) guess as to what Stormwatcher was doing right about now...

Thats right! he was passed out asleep in a nap! Wow, its like you know him so well im proud of you all for guessing that because... what else would you have guessed for Stormwatcher? ;) ... ok I suppose if you said eating I cant blame you either but this time it was sleeping, definitely sleeping


When the sound of a hawk cry awoke him he jerked up nearly leaping out of his pelt as he looked around all confused. Its probably a record for how fast he went from being snoozed out to being up on his paws.

He looked above him ducking low thinking the hawk was after him... After realizing he was not in immediate danger he squinted looking around seeing the hawk a distance away was instead dive bombing something else.

It was probably just hunting some unlucky rabbit or something hardly anything he had to worry about it turned out.. he could go back to sleep for now th-- ... the sound of his former apprentice however made his fur brush out and adrenaline spike.

There wasnt many in his clan that he thought very highly of and not many he would give a mouses tail for ... but Stoneheart meant alot to him even if he never directly would say that. She represented in some way that he could do a decent job at things if he really actually did try. Nothing made him prouder than seeing her succeed and doing well... so that hawk had another thing coming if it thought it could eat his former apprentice for lunch.


With a low growl he ran at the hawk batting at it very aggressively. He would punt this thing to the moonstone if need be.

Lionstripe made a note to himself about how wetter ground was far more quiet to walk on. He made another mental note of how dampened scents were compared to drier days. He'd been content to be silent as well, not saying much but observing all. He watched Stoneheart curiously, trying to study more experienced warriors than himself so as to become better as fast as he could. The shadow that loomed over his clanmate at first didn't seem any stranger to him that the breeze blowing the new leaves around.

Except the wind wasn't blowing.

The hawk collided into his clanmate before Lionstripe could utter a single sound. Adrenaline surging through him and springing into action, he launched himself forward with powerful hindlimbs to defend his clanmate. Despite being a young, newly named warrior, his lack of hesitation to strike was immediately apparent. Stormwatcher came out of left field as well, which nearly made Lionstripe claw him out of surprise.

Luckily, he didn't, and instead caught the hawk full force with a swipe of his paw across the head.

Stoneheart hissed at the pain that shot through her shoulders, and then her clanmates jumped in. Stormwatcher and the new warrior, Lionstripe. She spared them a nod of thanks, then shoved off the ground with powerful legs, springing to the branch she had been on before the hawk so rudely interrupted her hunt, and launched herself at the hawk with unsheathed claws. She wasn't about to let the stupid thing do that a second time.

Stoneheart used Leaping Bound for -10 sp, dealing -7 damage. Hawk is pinned this turn.

Stormwatcher was impressed to see his former apprentice now have a good pin against the hawk. And with lionstripe here too now it was an inevitable end for this hawk. "let's finish this, dont need it carrying off any kits"

He supposed they could eat it too since it seemed a shame to kill something and be wasteful. Hed never eaten hawk before ...


Feathers flew as he again smacked at the hawk who had no where to escape since it was pinned and such an easy target.

Lionstripe attempted to go for the bird's exposed belly, earning a kick for his efforts, and Stoneheart reared back, slamming her paws onto the back of the hawk's neck. The bird fell to the ground, angry movements slowing to a stop, and only then did she remove her paws from it, a low huff escaping her.

"Thanks." She nodded at Stormwatcher and Lionstripe, "I suppose one uninterrupted hunt was too much to ask for. Least we can salvage some of this, right?" There were some feathers that had escaped their claws, they could be good nest materials at the very least.

Stoneheart used Upright Lock for -10 sp, dealing -10 damage. Hawk is dead.
