It had been a little while since Iceheart had given birth to her stillborn litter. Maybe a couple days or maybe a week, hard to tell.
Swiftheart was devestated by the news, she knew how painful that was: losing a kit. She had lost her fair share as well and knew that the pain of that cut deeper than any claws ever could.
When she had lost her kits, she had just been devestated and had to rely on her clan for even the most basic of things for awhile, nothing really helped with the pain of it, no one could have said or done anything to really do anything at all. Swiftheart had needed lots of visits with friends and family to help her through it... needed lots of love, support and care/attention But that was her... she didnt know if Iceheart would find that helpful or if that would just add to the stress of things.
So even thought she knew somewhat what Iceheart was now facing and knew somewhat of what this was like. She didnt really know what in the stars she was supposed to do to be the friend she wanted to be to Iceheart. Every she cat was different in the way that they dealt with this kind of thing and Swiftheart didnt really know what Icehearts was...
She wasn't really sure of anything, she just wanted her friend to know she was there for her.
With knots in her stomach, Swiftheart picked out the nicest fresh kill she could from the pile and went over to the (nursery? idk where iceheart is rn)
Seeing Iceheart there she slowly approached and set the meal down for her friend.
"oh Ice" was all the usually so talkative she cat could manage to say as she rested by her friends side. She pushed gently into icehearts fur for a couple moments.
"I'm here for you, whatever you might want" she managed to whisper. Iceheart could tell her to leave too, she would totally understand that as well.

Iceheart
It was difficult to be awake these days. Iceheart found herself sleeping more, just to escape the awful reality around her. Her body was still healing from the kitting, and so she remained in the nursery to keep room in the medicine den for any injured or sick warriors who needed closer attention from the medicine cats. But being trapped in this nursery was awful; it only served as a reminder for what she lost. She had Forestbreeze with her most of the time, as he stayed with her all of the time when he was not out doing mandatory patrols. Fathers normally did not spend quite so much time in the nursery, but she was grateful for his presence. If she was left here alone here for days on end, she thought she would snap.
Swiftheart’s presence was not unwanted exactly, but Iceheart was not entirely sure what to do when she was here. Iceheart knew that most of the clan, if not everyone, knew about what had happened. She had been visited a few times with those pitying looks. Iceheart was not used to pity, and it made her uncomfortable. It was not their faults, and she would pity any cat who lost kits as she had…but it was overwhelming at the same time.
She lifted her head to look at her new guest. “Thank you, Swiftheart. I appreciate it,” she murmured glumly. She could not muster herself to not sound depressed, and she hoped that Swiftheart would not mind. “I’m…not sure what I want. Everything is just…” She trailed off and sighed. “Well. I’m sure you can imagine.”
When was the last time she had felt this awful? The only thing that came to mind was when Ratrunner died, but even that had been a different kind of sadness. It had resembled more of guilt, of despair. This just felt like…emptiness within her that she could not fill.

Swiftheart nuzzled her friend staying close to her just listening and slowly nodding. She understood how much pain this was. It never really got easier just further in the past from her own experiment with it sadly. Yeah, she could imagine.
"Everything feels broken and miserable. A general numbness. Sometimes when you think about getting up your body will not respond. You try and lift a paw and you worry you have hurt your neck or back and become paralyzed because the paw will not obey what you are telling it to do?" she sighed softly. That's what it had felt like for her for days at a time when frogkit and cinderkit died.
"There isn't much anyone can do to make it better, but I want you to know, its normal to feel this way when losing them like this"
Swiftheart couldn't really make the pain go away from her friend. As much as she would have liked to make the pain and hurt disappear there wasn't a way she could. So she tried to do the next best thing she knew how to, understand her and to let her know that it was okay and normal to feel this way and feelings.

Pineblossom gave a ghostly nod and sighed softly. It was nice to know that someone knew what she was going through, as it made her feel less alone, but it still didn’t really aid in how awful she felt. She wanted these bad feelings to pass as badly as she had when Ratrunner died. Perhaps even more so. All of the guilt and inadequacy she felt about losing her litter made the grief of mourning her lost kits even worse.
She looked at Swiftheart and gave an appreciative blink. “I am just glad that I still have Forestbreeze and Honeylight…I’m sure I would be doing much worse without them.” She knew she would. She did terribly after Ratrunner’s death for that very reason, and it was only after Honeylight entered her life as her apprentice, and Forestbreeze again as her friend, that she started to get better.
