Batsong glanced over to the back of her den where the sickly Vulturepaw stayed. She felt terrible that she had not found a way to heal him yet or get any sort of strength back. Luckily however, the weather was warming up and that meant that the snow in their lands was vanishing and turning parts of their land into nice pools similar to what riverclan had. The days were warming too which meant it would not be so cold for him to try and do some swimming exercise to rebuild alot of the strength that was lost.
In fact, the earthquake that had caused so much chaos had a silver lining, the divet it had made was now pooled up with water and with the sun baking it all spring like it was not too cold. She wanted to take advantage of this before the days got even hotter though and it would dry up and miss their window of opportunity.
It was the perfect spot, not too deep either. Humf!! even better than riverclan's fish breath pools anyways she thought a bit bitterly to herself thinking back on how unreceptive Perchstar had been to even giving them a chance of help. It was too bad that Perchstar was missing and Batsong would never wish harm on her... but Poppy seemed much more... how to say, workable with.
All this negative energy aside she tried to focus on helping her clanmate who was currently getting better which was the whole point. They didnt need riverclan anymore now that they had their very own pool that was probably better anyways.
She hummed a little to herself trying to not think this way but it was difficult not to, Perchstar had basically looked them in the eye and told them she didnt care if Vulturepaw died a slow, painful death and that her clans water was more important?
Batsong sighed and went slowly to Vulturepaws side looking down as they rested peacefully. Her job was to try and protect all life, how could anyone wish death on someone so small and innocent? Vulturepaw practically looked like a kit from the weakness that this sickness held over him.
She quietly prepared some traveling herbs for him then woke him gently.
"H-hey you, l-let's try and g-get by the p-pool today like we t-talked about, it w-will be closer than l-last time anyways and the s-sun should have the water n-nicely warmed by now it b-being afternoon" she whispered nudging them gently awake and setting the herbs by their side encouraging them to eat the travel herbs to get their energy spiking for the swim exercise.
"th-this will be g-good to r-rebuild your muscles and w-we only have to do a l-little bit each day. R-right now consistency is more -mportant t-than going c-crazy hard okay? she nodded a little.
Right then, the whole idea of the water also was to keep pressure off his joints till he was in better shape and his body got used to movement again, so for the walk over she had a special plan actually.
"as m-much as possible we w-wanna keep weight off your joints for now. S-so we have a unique solution" she purred grinning a little.
She gave a little call for the warrior that was awaiting just outside who she had told the plan to earlier.
As he appeared in the den she glanced over to her good friend Fuzz.
"F-fuzzface has agreed to be your p-personal walking s-strether for a bit
She tried to get an initial reading on what Vulture thought of all this but it was so dark back here that it was hard to tell.
She gestured to Fuzzfaze to lower so they could scoot Vulture over to the big fluffy warriors back.
