Something Like an Omen [C]

Nightstar found himself not doing too much since the dog attack and monster incident on Burdockroots orders. When he had left his den Iceheart found the opportunity to speak with him as he was looking for a frog from the pile, letting him know that she intended to speak with him later. That sent his stomach churning with concern and anxiety. Iceheart was one of his most trusted companions on his council aside from Locustcall, so if she was going out of her way to speak with him privately it had him wondering what it could be.

There was some relief when Iceheart had finally come back to speak with him on the matter, but it didn't help to ease the building worries as she started to speak - unable to fulfill her duties? - until she finally spat out that she was... pregnant? A sudden anger built up on the tom, a rush of protectiveness unfamiliar to him as he learned this, who had sullied her? Got their filthy paws on his- his thoughts went quiet and he clamped down on the building emotions like a badger bite. He had no claim over her, and she was a grown, responsible warrior that was an adult no less, she could have a mate and kits no matter how he felt about it.

So how did he feel about it?

It didn't matter.

She couldn't know that he cared that much.

"Oh. Well I'm happy to hear that! More warriors to Shadowclan and front a strong cat no less." Nightstar mewed, putting a soft smile on his maw.
