Jaypaw could tell that Weaselfoot wasn't exactly eager to train today. The lack of a proper greeting and his general demeanor told him so. Out of pettiness, Jaypaw gave Weaselfoot the same treatment, neglecting to recognize that he'd made a greeting at all. Walking through the camp entrance, he wondered where the warrior planned on taking him, but he stubbornly refused to ask out loud. A single demand answered his silent questions, barely loud enough to be heard over the wind, and Weaselfoot was fleeting. "Wow, thanks for the warning." He muttered under his breath, words dripping with sarcasm.

Following suit, he ran after Weaselfoot, only making it a few foxlengths before stumbling under his own weight. His leg was still troubling him despite the practice he'd put into walking correctly. Walking, he could do, but it seemed sprinting was a different story. Fury fueling him, he brute forced his way forward, still unable to catch up to Weaselfoot. For a moment he glanced down at his leg, concentrating on his movements before looking back up and narrowly avoiding a bush. "Hey-.. Wait up!" He called, disgusted at the hint of desperation he heard. "It's not exactly easy to keep up when my legs are shorter than yours!" He hissed, blue eyes narrowed at the warrior.

"Why didn't I think of that. What a fantastic suggestion." He muttered, still struggling to keep up. Miraculously, he seemed to be gaining on Weaselfoot, but he quickly realized that he was just slowing down a bit. He would have sighed had he not been struggling to hold steady breaths.

When his mentor came to a stop, Jaypaw lowered his head, chest heaving. Stars, this was embarrassing, he couldn't even run. That was the one think Windclanners were supposed to do. "Easy... for you to say." He mumbled between labored breaths. Weaselfoot didn't know about his leg - or at least the extent of it. He'd like to keep it that way. The last thing he wanted was pity, especially from his mentor. The fragrance flowers drifted to his panting maw, and, after raising his gaze, found that they'd already reached the flower fields. It was about time.

As Weaselfoot padded around, Jaypaw raised his ears at his nonchalant suggestion to spar. "Oh, really..." Jaypaw had no chance of winning, he knew that. Still, his frustration was building. He was almost glad that Weaselfoot had brought him to spar. Without even waiting for his breath to fully return to him, he dove beneath his mentor, attempting the best move he knew. He kicked upwards with his back legs, purposely refusing to use his front paws. Angry he was, he wasn't stupid. His claws would stay sheathed.

Although he was able to recognize that Weaselfoot would win, it seemed his clever move had only affected the warrior for a brief moment. By the time he'd scrambled from beneath him Weaselfoot had already managed to hit him twice on opposite ends of his body. Instantly, his hope had faded. He tensed up at the light jabs, squeezing his eyes shut at his aching muscles. It didn't take much to push his body to reach it's limits, he already felt fatigue. Reaching out, he swatted a feeble paw at his mentor, head falling when he realized how little force was behind it. Leaning against a rock, he choked out words between heavy breaths. "I'm tired... I.." Stars, he couldn't believe he had to give up. "I can't .. do it." Rarely did Jaypaw let others get to him, but right now he could only think about how Weaselfoot probably wished for an apprentice who could actually run, who could put up a fight. That, and the Thunderclanner. Firepaw. This was all her fault.
