Graykit was stretched out in front of the nursery, ears pricked as she stared at the camp entrance. Mom had been very clear that she and her siblings were not allowed to leave camp, so she'd asked her father... Who had given her the same answer with an amused purr. She was nearly the age of becoming an apprentice, and with each passing day Graykit found herself wishing she could go out into the forest. Mom was out now, even, and it simply wasn't fair that she was stuck in camp with little to do. The silvery kit sighed, rolling onto her side and staring up at the cloudy sky and leafbare branches above. She was so very bored...

Birdstar
The bent branches framing the entrance rustled softly as Birdstar ducked through them, the rest of her patrolmates following in her pawsteps. With a set of nods and brief exchanges, the cats alongside her dispersed and the leader was free to stretch her legs and look over who was gathered in the clearing. Her attention went immediately towards the nursery first– it had been, since Wolfblossom's kits had been born –and she was pleasantly surprised to see one of her nieces relaxing outside, staring towards the exit out into the territory.
Without bothering to look over the rest of the clearing, Birdstar padded over, and there was a quiet purr rumbling in her throat as she drew nearer. "Well hello, Graykit." There was nothing but fondness in her easy greeting. "Keeping a careful eye on camp? Making sure we have no intruders?"

Movement at the camp's entrance had Graykit's ears pricking forward, eagerly waiting to see who would be returning to camp. She was disappointed that it wasn't Wolfblossom finally returning, but seeing her aunt always made her happy. And Birdstar had clearly spotted her, heading her way. "Birdstar!" Graykit grinned up at her aunt. She had always been more reserved around other clanmates, but there was no reason to be around family.
"Of course!" The kit chirped, sitting up a bit straighter, "I'd never let anything get into camp!" At the moment Graykit was far too small to take on any real threat, but her voice still carried the confidence only a kit could muster.
