It was time for Tigerpaw to become a warrior. A day that Nightstar had been waiting for expectantly, as this was the one cat he had brought in himself. Nightstar hadn't really wanted to do it, but this cat had no previous family, nowhere to go, and as part of the code decreed that kits must be looked after, and perhaps Tigerpaw reminded himself a little, and maybe- just maybe, Nightstar was trying to replicate the leaders before him. Nightstar worried a lot more than he cared to admit, that Tigerpaw would fit in well, that Locustcall would train him and mold him into a warrior that would be indistinguishable from a Shadowclan warrior; anything to prove to Nightstar that his decision was not a wrong one.

Nightstar jumped onto the jagged rock. "All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" and waited for his clan to gather.

Tigerpaw had been lounging near the Apprentice's Den, awaiting his next task. He had already trained, already done what he could to help... and it wasn't enough, of course, but he wasn't about to go patrol on his own. That was a mess waiting to happen. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Nightstar ascend the Jaggedrock, and before he called out, the tom was already starting to stretch.

Far less of an apprentice now, the tom had grown into quite the tall, lanky cat. He wasn't a kit anymore, and certainly not the one Nightstar brought in. Tigerpaw wondered... was his leader proud of him? Was Locustcall? Or was he just one of the masses to them now? Maybe it was better if he was. In any case, he had found a seat near the front, having been so close to the Jaggedrock already.

Locustcall's head rose quickly at the sound of Nightstar's meeting call, the frog he had been nibbling on quickly forgotten. He had been singing Tigerpaw's praises for a while now, he was well fit to be a warrior in his eyes. Though, when the young tom earned his warrior name was still up to Nightstar. It was odd to think he was so invested in a rogue-born... but Tigerpaw had spent more of his life in Shadowclan than out of it at this point, the entirety of his youth trained to be a loyal warrior. Tigerpaw was just as much Shadowclan as Locustcall was, regardless of what blood flowed through his veins.

The muscular tom made his way toward the front of the gathering cats, having to slide his way past a few others in order to make it. He wanted a good view, just in case it was his apprentice getting their name.

"Today we are all to witness the naming of a new warrior. Tigerpaw, please step forward." The tom sat silently as his friends apprentice did so. "I call upon all those present and watching to gaze upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of our noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Tigerpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Tigerpaw's eyes widened as he realized, very quickly, that this was for him. It was his ceremony.

Tail swishing excitedly, Tigerpaw only had to take a few steps to be front and center. His name... he wondered what it would be. He had never given much thought to it, he had been nameless when he was found, and Tigerpaw had truly been his name for most of his life. It felt... strange, yet noble. Like he was better for it, having a name to describe him. At least, he hoped Nightstar had a suitable one for him.

"I do." The tom spoke after the words had been said. It was what he had heard others say, and simple words would suffice. If he had been given free rein, there would likely be far more he would've said. Perhaps it was better left unsaid after all, though. Actions were better than words.

"Then it is my honor to name you a warrior before all witnesses present. Tigerpaw, from this day forward you will be known as Tigershriek. ShadowClan honors your dedication and bravery, and we are proud to welcome you as a warrior in our ranks." Nightstar called, looking down proudly at his apprentice before he leaped from the rock, landing strongly in front of his apprentice, now warrior, and touched his nose to his friends former apprentice's head. "Congratulations, you will be a fine, strong warrior, a great asset for Shadowclan to have. Enjoy a little bit of time with your peers, and take up your position for your vigil." When he was done speaking, the tom backed up a bit with a nod before he let the new warrior go free.

“Tigershriek! Tigershriek!” Sunpaw chanted with his clanmates. His chest puffed out just a bit as he realized Tigershriek wasn’t that much older than himself. Perhaps his own warrior ceremony would be next.

Tigerpaw's was summoned forward and Locustcall fur fluffed up with pride. His was the first apprentice he had trained fully, the first apprentice he could chant the name of. There were so many good names he would have chosen for his apprentice, yet the one Nightstar spoke was not one he considered.

"Tigershriek"

He wasn't sure if he heard it correctly at first, but then cats around it began to yell it out with confidence. One young apprentice had taken his past prefix, and now his apprentice, a cat he trained, had taken his suffix. Cicadashriek was no longer his name, torn apart and passed down to Shadowclan's youth... and it felt good. He offered Nightstar a soft smile before he turned to the newly named warrior, his smile pulling into a wide, proud grin. "Tigershriek! A great name! Congratulations, welcome to the warrior's den." He nudged the new warrior with his shoulder.

Tigershriek could hardly contain his excitement upon hearing his new name, grinning madly at his leader. Once Nightstar had descended and pressed his nose to his head, the newly named warrior simply whispered, "Thank you." Pulling away, he spun around to see Locustcall standing behind him, grinning the same as he was. "Thank you! I won't let you down as a warrior, I promise. You've trained me well!" Quickly looking around to check for anyone else wanting to congratulate him, he ran off toward the entrance to sit for his vigil. He was good at being quiet... at least when he wanted to be.
