Birdstar
It seemed that SkyClan always had to have ceremonies in pairs– a kit would be ready to leave the nursery, the next day a warriot would tell her their apprentice was ready to earn their name. And as it was, there was an apprentice ready to earn her name, just days after Emberpaw's ceremony. Scanning the crowd from her place on the Tallbranch, Birdstar yowled, "All cats old enough to climb the trees, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"
The camp was slowly but surely looking more and more like a proper camp, or what Stonepaw had imagined it would look like with Skyclan free of temporary shelters and in a constant state of flux. She sat outside the apprentice den, grooming her fur after a sparring session with one of the other apprentices, but when Birdstar called for a clan meeting, the apprentice stood and made her way toward the tallbranch, finding a place to sit among her clanmates. More announcements, maybe? Or a ceremony. They would find out sooner rather than later, she expected.
Birdstar kept her eyes on the soon-to-be warrior as she joined the growing crowd, waiting for the rest of the Clan to fill in before clearing her throat to raise her voice once more. "Stonepaw, step forward, please," she called, waiting another few moments for the molly to do so. Once she had, the leader went on, "StarClan, I call upon you to look down on this apprentice. She's trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn. Stonepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
It wasn't long before clanmates gathered, and Birdstar spoke, beckoning her forward. Stonepaw blinked slowly, once, but kept most of the surprise from her face. She stepped forward, and Birdstar continued. She hadn't thought she was in trouble or anything, but a warrior ceremony was still strangely unexpected. Having only just started to know her own territory after completing the majority of her training in and around fourtrees, sometimes there was a strange feeling of incongruence around her training compared with the younger apprentices. She had trained hard, of course, and she knew everything the other apprentices did, it was just... Strange, to learn a territory that her training should have taken place in when she had already had her moonstone journey before ever truly seeing it. But she knew Skyclan's territory too, and the camp that hadn't felt like home was slowly turning into that, for her. More than the disorganized, hectic mess of fourtrees could ever be. For as incongruent as her training had felt at times... She was ready. The realization that she was going to earn her warrior name was an exciting one, now at the forefront of her mind upon hearing Birdstar's words.
"I do." She mewed, head held high as she gazed up at the leader.
Stonepaw was one of the few apprentices that didn't seem outwardly shocked to hear her name called, and a faint smile lifted Birdstar's features at the resolution in the younger cat's eyes. Her vow came simply, and Birdstar nodded once in reply. "Then I grant you your name as a warrior. From this day on, you will be known to all as Stoneheart. SkyClan honors your dedication and perseverance." Leaping down from her perch, she crossed the clearing to gently touch her nose to the new warrior's head. "It's not easy, training in these circumstances, but you've done well. Good luck on your vigil. I look forward to seeing you as a warrior."
The promise, those simple two words had come easily and naturally for Stonepaw, and Birdstar spoke again. Stoneheart, that was oddly fitting, she thought, feeling pride that she had earned the name. The leader leaped down from the tallbranch, padding over to touch noses and offer her own words. "Thank you, Birdstar." She mewed softly. The leader was right, it hadn't felt easy at times, but Stoneheart had done it despite the chaos.
Stormwatcher attended the ceremony. Of course he would, this was His apprentice.
Even if he wouldnt let it show outwardly very easy, he was still super proud of her. She was a natural at this and he knew shed make a great warrior.
Once the name was given the faintest of smiles was allowed before he quickly made sure to hide that again.
He walked over to her once it was over.
"Good job, you deserve this" he said doing a very good job to not let the excitment he actually felt enter his voice.
Wolfblossom had gotten him to care about someone and he didnt like that he was vulnerable in that sense, but he did care about Stoneheart more than he would ever admit. There was pretty much no one he would consider to risk fighting alot for.
Sure, he would protect the clan and all that but individually he was pretty much avoiding any relationships of any kind after being burned so many times on them. Stone was the only one now but he was hoping it would stay as only one.
"You have your vigil tonight...
try not to fall asleep through some of it like I did on mine... but you are better than I am, im sure you will do great he thought to himself.
A little bit of him was sad to see her all done with their training...
But alot of him was happy that no more early mornings would be spent doing drills and practice spars.
