Rookkit
Today was not the day for Sunkit– he was preoccupied with... something else, though Rookkit wasn't sure exactly what it was. They had tried looking for him, but he seemed particularly intent on being found (though Rookkit did not look that hard– they gave up halfway between the nursery and the elder's den, deciding they were too tired for wandering aimlessly). They hadn't thought they'd been gone long, but when they returned to the nursery, Larkkit had disappeared as well. Their ears had lowered unhappily and whiskers twitched once. Despite being tired, they did not feel like taking a nap. So they had sat pensively in the snow, staring at their own paws until the sound of a nearly-familiar voice carried over, and an idea struck them.
Lifting their head, they saw Perchstar across camp, sending off a group of warriors for whatever business warriors got sent on. A bit of weariness made their neutral frown tighten. They had just walked that way, and now they must again? But without complaint, Rookkit got to his paws, ambling through what snow had yet to be cleared. Perchstar was their leader– that meant she was wise and respectable. Hawkshriek had made her sound smarter than any other living cat (except Lark, who was the smartest cat he knew). And if she was smart, she would have answers to his most pressing questions. She was the one that had ordered them to run and abandon chase before it began, so he hoped she had a sound reasoning. Stumbling a step as he came out of a pile of snow that was deeper than he'd expected, Rookkit jerked to a stop right in front of Perchstar's paws. Angling his head back to look at her, he meowed simply, "Are you aware of where Father was taken by the two-legs?"
