Birdstar
Faded orange and dusty golds brushed away the darkened blue of night time. The dawning sun had yet to rise high enough to be seen through the trees, but its light was gradually chasing stars away and brightening the path over stony ground. Under full darkness, Birdstar quietly woke her Clanmtes, urging them all to their paws. In a quiet voice, she ordered some cats to carry what prey they had; others, to help with the herbs; the kits, too, and giving support to their elders. Today, they were going to go home, return to the camp they had left behind for too long. They were all to be wary, keeping an especially close eye out in case of traps laying in their path. No one was permitted to stray from the bulk of the group. If they all stayed close and stayed quiet, the blessing of nighttime should see them home in peace.
And they had made it. Somehow, they had made it. Birdstar almost doubted there would be a territory waiting for them, or thought all her Clan would be taken up by sneaking twolegs on their walk. But they were here, thick-trunked trees surrounding them on either side. Their branches were barren, but even without the canopy of leaves to look into, the tangled crowns were a soothing sight. If she focused on the familiarity, on the way the rising sunlight made the snow shimmer, it was easier to ignore the damage around her. The littered debris, some entire trees felled; and as they neared camp, the damage that was left there. The outer perimeter all but ruined, their alarm system surely shot– entire dens collapsed, the branch that had fractured her leg and the tree that had crushed Briarstar in her den still taking up unwelcome space.
Pulling in a shaky breath, Birdstar turned to give her Clan a weary look before pushing forward. The sun was properly visible now, and as she leaped to perch atop what remained of the Tallbranch, golden light haloed her pale fur. We're home. We made it. She allowed a few beats for all of SkyClan to filter in before she cleared her throat to give the proper meeting calling. "All cats old enough to climb the trees, gather below the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!" They were all tired, and there would be due time given to resting. But first, while they were awake, there was plenty to be addressed.

Stormwatcher couldnt belive it, they were actually going back home... would that mean things would finally get back to how they used to be? He hoped so, this running all over the forest thing had gotten very old and not to mention how tiring it had gotten too.
He slowly got up to his paws to follow Birdstar on their journey back.
He spotted Stonepaw and went over to walk next to her but tried to make it look like an accident and not like it was a planned thing at all.
"It'll be nice being back fully, maybe when things get settled in more I can show you some tree climbing, skyclan land has the best trees to practice on and such" he meowed after a big yawn, why they had decided to go in the dead of night he wasnt sure... what were they? Shadowclan now? He guessed it made some sense while the twolegs were gone but ughhh this was supposed to be sleepy time.
When they got back he sat down for the meeting
another meeting?? he sighed internally but did his best to stay somewhat positive outwardly, this was a big moment for the clan to finally be back home after all that had happened and so he wondered what Birdstar would have to say about it. From the way that she sounded when she gave the call to the clan, there was no more coughing in her voice. Maybe Wolfblossom had gotten her to actually see the med cat...
Wow... Wolf can do anything if she can do that he thought mussing to himself.
Birdstar was a good leader, but getting her to accept help was hmm not always easy, luckily Wolf had a way with such things it so appeared since the sickness that had plaughed their leader earlier was no longer a thing luckily
He couldnt wait for this meeting to be over though, the thought of getting back to the real warrior den where his real nest was... heaven!!!
"Youve done so well on your training Stonepaw... I'm ... I'm... his eyes narrowed for a little.
"Im proud of you he said quietly,
"Tomorrow, you can have the day off, I think you have earned it.
Now, did Stormwatcher give her the day off so that he could sleep in to enjoy and celebrate being back home??
Yes, but what he said was true as well, she had done alot of hard training and he wanted to give her something especially after loosing her denmate Crookedpaw and after seeing her sister also almsot get taken too. A day off to just kinda mellow was probably in order and assuming Wolf and Bird were okay with it... He for one was never against that kinda thing no doubt.

To be on Skyclan soil again was a relief. Wolfblossom had been careful to keep an eye on the apprentices and kits during the walk from fourtrees, determined that nobody be left behind or accidentally stray too far from the group. She'd been wary, the continued presence of silvery traps in the predawn light an unwelcome and infuriating sight, but for all her anger, they would at long last be home. No more gatherings in their camp, no cramped makeshift dens, no need to step paw onto another clan's territory just to hunt. No clans descending on their makeshift camp for a gathering, however peaceful it had been. As Skyclan neared the camp some of the younger apprentices had no memory of, Wolfblossom's gaze turned forward, cataloguing fallen trees and branches, the dens that would need repair. Skyclan would have work to do, but it was a task she didn't think anyone would be too upset to take on. They were finally home, and they would make this their home again.
As Birdstar called the clan together for a meeting, Wolfblossom found a place among her clanmates, expectant blue eyes turning toward her sister.

Stonepaw stuck close to Mistpaw throughout the walk into unfamiliar territory, wide green eyes taking in their surroundings as the landscape became rougher underpaw, stony ground dotted by small gullies and streams. It was still too dark to truly make out her surroundings, but she found herself wanting to memorize as much as she could of these lands that she'd never trained in. Nearly her whole life had been spent around fourtrees, with claustrophobic clan borders at every turn where there weren't twoleg traps to endanger her, but now they had actual territory.
Stormwatcher moved to walk beside her, speaking softly, and Stonepaw glanced up at her mentor. "I hardly remember it... It'll be nice to have actual territory to hunt on." She responded quietly, "Do you think it will be safe from the twolegs?" She didn't think even Birdstar or Wolfblossom could've answered that, but she couldn't stop herself from asking anyways. The worry was nearly forgotten as Stormwatcher spoke again, hesitating almost... Proud of her? Wide green eyes blinked up at her mentor in surprise, her pelt feeling oddly warm, as if the sun had been shining overhead. "Thank you, you're... uh, a good mentor." Awkward as ever, but she had meant it. Out of the corner of her eye, she could have swore she saw Wolfblossom hiding a smile.
As Skyclan filed into camp, Stonepaw gazed around, hoping for a sense of familiarity at being home. She hardly remembered it at all, and from the state of things, fourtrees almost looked more organized than this clearing with fallen trees and debris. Birdstar's voice called for the clan to gather, and Stonepaw sat quietly, curious to hear what the leader would say.

Creamsky padded quietly after Birdstar, prey hanging from his jaws as he had decided to gather up a few of the smaller birds that had made up their prey pile. He couldn't deny the gentle fear that rose in his stomach of them leaving Fourtrees behind - if Blackbear and Crookedpaw returned, would they know where to look? Would they assume that they returned to the camp or would they think that something happened to them...?
...No, it wouldn't help dwelling on 'what-ifs.' He shook his head to chase away those thoughts, stepping into the camp proper. He glanced around, taking in the damage. There was a pang of sadness that he didn't even remember what the camp looked like before they had been forced to flee - his first memories was being in Fourtrees with Blackbear. But...He was determined to help bring the camp back to its former glory. He dropped the birds into a small corner of the camp that seemed safe for now at the moment, glancing over as Birdstar called the Clan together.
Creamsky padded over, taking a spot as he turned to look at his other Clanmates milling around, wondering how they felt about the state of the camp.

Having been awakened early by Birdstar's call to pack up their prey, Firepaw was a bit... scruffier looking than usual. He always was a degree of scruffy, with his wild fur often having leaves or dry grass stuck in it, but getting up unexpectedly had really done a number this time. He wasn't one to argue though, he knew that he had been awakened for good reason. They were going home. Unfortunately, to a territory that Firepaw barely remembered from a young age, but it was his home. Choosing a piece of prey, he headed out with the rest of his clan, his mouth full with a good excuse to keep others from speaking to him.
Then they were back, not that it hadn't felt like ages since they began their trek, but they were back. The trees changed along with the sky as night became morning, the trees becoming taller and taller with each pawstep. When finally making it back to camp, however, Firepaw was surprised... though of course not everything would be as he remembered it. The dens were in disarray, the entire camp practically a ruin. Something inside him wanted to get to work immediately, but he restrained himself. Better to wait for some instruction, whatever they did would need to be organized, which is why the tom dropped his prey in their new pile, and sat before the Tallbranch.

Birdstar kept a steady eye on the clearing below as her Clan filed in. It was a mess, covered with debris and piles of snow and ruined dens, all things that would need fixing... but, it was home. It was a mess, but it was where they belonged. The bark under her paws, however rough, felt comforting as she gripped it tighter. No more lingering around Fourtrees, no more sounds of twolegs echoing on every single side of them– no more dreadfully open territory, no Clans descending on their "camp" in the middle of the night for a Gathering, no more. Of any of it. There was a slight ache in her heart for the younger cats that had never seen SkyClan's territory, that had been learning to hunt on the fringes of other Clans', but there was no better time to learn than the present.
Once all of SkyClan had filed into the clearing, Birdstar raised her voice again. "Before anything else: welcome home, SkyClan. It feels good." She bowed her head for a moment, letting the words hang. They had to take some appreciation where they could find it, and this was definitely worth appreciating. "I'm sure our camp, our territory look unfamiliar to some. Even to those that grew up in these walls, the disarray is... a lot. Starting at sunhigh, we'll begin rebuilding. Our priorities will be the nursery and the elder's den: we want to make sure our queens, kits, and elders have suitable shelter from leaf-bare before anything else. Plumleaf's den, the apprentice's, and the warrior's dens will follow. My own will be the last." Birdstar glanced down, looking at the tree that had– she sighed. It'd be a suitable den again, in time. She wasn't looking forward to it, sleeping alone, but she doubted any cat was.
"Aside from den repair, we're going to use this calamity to our advantage. Starting today, several warriors are going to be assigned to limb patrol now and again. Their job will be to investigate as many trees throughout the territory as they can in a day. Any branches they see that aren't fit for exercise– dead, thin, weak, whatever reason –are to be removed however possible. As long as they can be easily carried, they'll be returned to camp to be used in as many repairs as possible going forward. Anything that isn't put toward den repairs or something similar will instead be used as protection. Whatever is either recovered from limb patrol or cleaned up from camp or territory will be placed around the outside of camp. No cat outside of this hollow, or without an escort, will be able to reach us safely. If anyone's brave enough to try, the snapping will alert us to a foreign presence, and we're to be on our guard in an instant.
On the note of our safety, we'll also have night guards on watch every night. Consider it like your vigil– a different pair of warriors will be assigned to watch over us every night. Those on night guard will not be assigned to any early patrols the following day. Though I don't see war lurking in our future, I was made leader to keep SkyClan safe. Hopefully, with these practices, we will be." Her tail flickered, and Birdstar paused to gather her breath. No, she wasn't letting any more misfortune befall SkyClan. Not while she had a paw in their future.
"I'll also be reinstating Bloodstar's sky patrols. Those of you that are best at navigating the treetops will earn this privilege, and you will be instrumental in SkyClan's safety just as our guarded walls. Where a standard ground patrol might not notice a threat until it's within eyes or ears, those of you selected for sky patrol will have the advantage of seeing as far as the trees allow you. Anything that seems concerning is to be reported to myself or Wolfblossom immediately. If your patrol leader determines it's too dangerous to wait, I trust my warriors to make good choices, and to dispatch the threat if necessary. Sky patrol assignments will be sorted in the coming days."
Birdstar paused again. That was all the more... official things to say– she thought so, at least. There was plenty, plenty more that needed discussed, but that would come in time. She wouldn't bombard them all with everything that swirled between her ears on one frosty morning. "One last thing. I know there are still SkyClan cats that have yet to return to us, and that will be expecting us at Fourtrees. Wolfblossom and I will be organizing patrols of capable warriors only to journey to Fourtrees and search for signs of their return. It is my hope that if they return between our patrols, they'll search for us here; otherwise, we'll do everything we can to find them. They won't be lost forever." There was a little twist in her chest at the possibility that they might be, but she couldn't dwell on that. They would return, if she had to storm every twoleg's nest herself. StarClan couldn't keep them forever.
Leaping to the ground below, Birdstar weaved her way over to Wolfblossom's side, standing beside her sister with her chin raised. Her voice raked across the faces of her Clanmates once more before she issued one final address, "Now get the rest I took from you, SkyClan. We have lots of work to do, and more to talk about as the days go on. But for now rest, rejoice, and we'll get to work at sunhigh." There was a silent I love you to the Clan, but Birdstar let that go unsaid. Instead, she quietly bowed her head, and allowed her Clanmates to disperse and find somewhere to sleep for a few more hours.

Mistpaw drifted gracefully beside her sister, sticking close. She had been born in SkyClan's camp, she knew as much, but- that didn't make this place she could hardly remember feel any more like home. The familiar cats that surrounded her were some comfort, as much as she kept her distance from most of them. "I hope I never see one of those traps again," she whispered, though Stonepaw's question wasn't meant for her. Getting caught, however briefly, was a harrowing experience; one she hoped never to encounter again.
She followed as a Clan meeting was called and listened quietly as Birdstar spoke. The focus on safety wasn't lost on her, and she was grateful for it; though the concept of staying awake all night with only another cat she may or may not know too well to keep watch wasn't quite as reassuring. Well, that was the concern of a warrior, wasn't it? Soon to be hers, hopefully, but not quite yet.
(She still hadn't managed a single successful catch. What kind of warrior couldn't hunt?)Lightningpaw struggled to pace herself, bouncing forward with each step; the only thing stopping her from racing and bounding back to SkyClan's camp was that she didn't remember the way. Well, that and the lingering fear of traps on the ground; in all honesty, it felt strange staying on the ground so long: she'd grown accustomed to spending almost all her time in the branches of the clearing they'd called home until now.
As their leader called a meeting, she settled next to Creamsky; nudging her friend affectionately. Birdchaser- Birdstar, something she thought she would never get used to; why all the emphasis on earning a name if it was taken away and replaced with something else? What sort of honor was that?- had earned her respect back when chaos first broke out at Fourtrees, when she had barely been named as an apprentice. As a result, her voice was one of the few that could make Lightningpaw stop in her tracks to listen- aside from her mother and Creamsky.
A lot of it felt like standard announcements, but some things stood out more than others. In particular, the concept of a sky patrol: if there was anything designed specifically to appeal to Lightningpaw (as much as she knew, logically, that it hadn't been), that would have to be it.
Those of you that are best at navigating the treetops will earn this privilege.
"Sky patrol," she whispered reverently. "I'll definitely be up there someday."

Stormwatcher sat and listened to his leader. His ears went back a bit... Tree branch removal... how in the world were they gonna do that he wondered a bit pesimistically.
hmm well that was an interesting idea but how were they supposed to do it? the details seemed kinda vauge in this meeting at least. Hmm oh well he was sure that if he was supposed to do something about it someone would come get him from his nap which he hoped could start soon
