Redice knew the dangers of the flooded marsh. What a perfect place to bring an apprentice. Cicadapaw would either earn her right to live or perish with the trash. Redice did take her to a higher spot in their territory that wasn't as terribly flooded.

"Alright, stalking prey isn't hard. You can generally catch what you want as long as you're patient." Redice said almost sleepily. He'd been asleep all day, but teaching another cat to hunt wasn't something he'd consider fun
Teaching a cat how to fight was better. In time though, Redice supposed...

"Approach slowly and quietly and when you're within pouncing distance, you pounce. It's easy; Easier with practice." Redice dropped into a crouch and approached the croaking of a frog. Easily creeping close to it, Redice pounced.

Redice attempted to catch a frog. He was Unsuccessful. Predator triggered. -5SP

A movement to Red's left caught his attention. An owl was closing in fast. Redice's eyes suddenly lit up. Allowing the frog to escape for now, Redice turned his attention to the owl. With a cold chuckle, he slapped the sodden ground with a paw, sending mud directly into the owl's eyes.

"This is even better! Cicadapaw, destroy that arrogant feather head. I'd like us to get back to our hunting lesson." He loved giving the command. Just another step towards complete domination.

Cicadapaw's creamy white paws were beginning to stain brown from the mud she stepped in. Some parts pulled her paws deeper than others, and she felt nervous about being in an unknown spot. She had to trust her mentor, though, so she hid her fear with a confident and curious smile and pushed onwards through the watery marshlands. However, the young she-cat had a feeling that her mentor cared none for her safety.

Eh, what could really go wrong? Redice would face serious consequences if she ended up dead, and she'd be left cackling in Starclan watching Shadowclan berate him down below. Cicadapaw knew that that probably wasn't in reddish-furred warrior's best interests- oh, not to mention her mother would probably kill him on the spot.

But... It appeared she had completely spaced out while following her mentor through the unknown territory. She listened somewhat attentively to Redice as he spoke, but it sounded as if he was taking a really easy way out of training her properly. Still, it'd be a waste of coming out into this unpleasant territory if she didn't at least try to learn. Cicadapaw held back, keeping her eyes on Redice as he went to catch a frog...

... And caught the attention of an owl instead. He seemed... Excited about it, which, sure, she guessed it was better than watching him fail miserably at catching the easiest target in their territory. However, his command was a little annoying. She didn't exactly like being told what to do so aggressively, Mama was always very kind and asking her to do something, but this was an order.

Still, if Redice was really bad at catching frogs, he'd be even worse at fighting an owl all by himself. "Allllr-ighty Mista Bossy!" She cheered, running into battle next to her mentor. While she wasn't at all excited by the thought of hunting continuing after this battle, it was a nice change of pace. She didn't exactly have any idea how to fight, but she knew that biting and scratching were involved, so maybe a bite would do?

Cicadapaw leapt at her opponent, gripping onto one of its wings with her sharp teeth and not letting go until she was sure she had drawn blood. She stumbled back with disgust, wrinkling up her muzzle. "Yuck, haven't these feathery no-brains ever heard of a grooming session?" She shook her head, sure that even grass would taste better than whatever that was.

Cicadapaw used Snap on the owl! Dealing -6 HP (owl) and -7 SP (Cicadapaw)

Redice watched as the untrained youth did... well basically what Redice expected her to. A simple move, but at least she wasn't afraid. At calling him mistah bossy, the red tom allowed a toothy grin. There was no concern for either of their safety right now, the owl being nothing more than a nuisance or a game.

"Grooming?" Redice questioned, his eyes temporarily softening as he thought about that. He had... no idea if owls groomed. A question to ponder. They didn't have tongues like cats, so how could they? "I- ... I don't know." He said, suddenly very fascinated. Redice brought his mind back to the task at paw and realized that the owl was now able to see.

Right... that might be a problem later...

Redice lunged straight for the owl's belly, no remorse in his acidic yellow eyes. Once his claws tore through the owl's belly, the stubborn animal still wanted to fight. It managed a nasty scratch on Redice's shoulder, which only caused the red tom to hiss impatiently.

"Oh just die you worthless creature. You've lost. Cicadapaw... finish it off. I grow bored of this mongrel." Redice finished the sentence with a yawn and sat down. The owl was going to die, there was no doubt about it.
