Leopardsun was once again in her preferred gathering spot, looking around at the cats that made up her Clan. "ShadowClan! All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, please gather around me for a Clan meeting!"

Lighttail joined the meeting, wrapping her tail around herself to shelter from the cold. Another of her little cousins would likely be apprenticed today, but the thought did little to comfort her. Sablestrike was still missing, and Lighttail silently swore to herself that when he returned she’d tackle him and tell him off for being such a mousebrain as to fall for one of those traps.

Despite all the stories from the older cats where ceremonies took place on high rocks and stones that touched the skies above, Cicadakit could never imagine it. All of the ceremonies that she had experienced were on the ground, level with the other cats. This one was no different, and she presumed it'd stay that way until they got back to camp. She couldn't remember camp, she was far too young when she was there, and the word 'camp' made her think of water for some odd reason.

She sat with her family, mostly, next to Mama as always, and if her siblings joined her than she would have no objection. Briefly, she wondered if it was her ceremony, she was old enough, and some of her siblings were already apprenticed.

"Cicadakit, please step forward."

Leopardsun waited for the kit in question to do so before she continued.

"You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Cicadapaw. Redice will be your mentor. I trust that he will pass his skills on to you."

She had hoped, once upon a time, that Honeylight would be a positive influence on him; perhaps in vain. Now, she was entrusting another of ShadowClan's apprentices to ShadowClan's youngest warrior. That was turning into a trend, but there wasn't much she could do about it- even despite her own reservations regarding the cat in question.
