When even the skies are against us

Swiftheart had been out hunting around for something for her clan to eat, the situation was pretty bad and the clan needed food badly.

She saw a big hare up ahead. She hoped she could catch it. It could probably feed a couple cats a decent meal based on how big it was. She stalked forward towards it. She was so focused on the hunt that even the experienced warrior forgot to check her surroundings. She was almost within striking distance when she realized all to late that a shadow had been following her. She heard the beating of wings overhead seconds before a giant hawk was swooping down at her!

She hissed supprised and startled from the attack as the hawk dug its talons into her shoulder clawing her pretty badly. She squirmed quickly getting out of the hawks reach. She ducked as it came after her again. She ran quickly to the cover of a large boulder that was common near the highstones area.

She panted too exhausted from all the recent events to really want to fight a hawk right now. She stayed low till it gave up circling overhead and flew off to who knows where. She peaked out from her hiding spot and sighed.

She limped her way back to the temp camp. The wound hurt alot but it was nothing life threatening. Just lot of blood that looked way worse than it actually was, it had stained her white pelt pretty well making it look bigger deal than reality.

She went over to the temp med den which was basically a little shack that was all they had time to set up in their hurry of the temporary camp thing.

"Burdock? Fuzzy? she mewed

She spotted Burdock,

"oh hey! I umm sorta got ambushed, it came outta no where, I really hate hawks the talkative warrior explained, she was always very talkative and in a good mood usually.

Burdockpaw's eyes narrowed as the talkative cat rushed over with shoulder wounds. StarClan, could no cat be careful? She grunted to Swiftheart, motioning her closer to the makeshift medicine den behind a large boulder. Herbs, her most precious things aside from her pelt, was carefully stashed here. Without saying a word to her patient - every cat in the clan probably would have heard of her lackluster bedside manner by now - the former warrior began her work, carefully pulling out herbs and cobwebs. First, she would stop the bleeding. Carefully picking up a wad of the sticky webs, that luckily could be found easy up here, Burdockpaw closed the short distance and sat in front of Swiftheart. With narrow eyes, Burdockpaw transferred some of the webs to her paw, discarding the rest to the side, and pressed firmly into the wound. First, you must stop the bleeding.

Swiftheart watched the med cat work for a bit. In no time, the med cat had stopped alot of the bleeding with cobwebs. Burdockpaw didnt say much which was quite the opposite of the white warrior her patient.

"so, how do you like being med cat? Did you like this or warrior better? she asked curiously and innocently enough.

"mhh I bet you are kinda used to being up here with all the cool meetings you get to go on up here with the dreams and stuff. she suggested hoping that at least maybe their med cat was comfortable up here, (Swiftheart for one didnt like living up here she missed their marsh)

Burdockpaw glanced up at the white warrior before shifting and getting back to work. "Doesn't matter to me. Never reay cared." The answer was open ended, an all encompassing response to all of the questions being thrown at her. It was true, really, she didn't really care. All she really cares about was her herbs, and that was only a recent happening since being a medicine cat. Her whole allegiance to ShadowClan was apathetic easiness. And Iceheart. But that had no chance now. She was a medicine cat and Iceheart was most likely with Forestbreeze. A wince wracked her face briefly at the thought. No cat would ever truly care about her. All she was is a tool and that's all she ever will be.
