((They can hunt, or walk and talk, up to you))
The rain had stopped, leaving behind wet ground and a breeze that made Brackenwing shiver slightly. Still, just because she was a little cold (and stars knew the wide open moors offered no protection from the elements) didn't mean she could curl up in her nest and sleep. The clan needed to be fed, the borders needed to be checked on, and her apprentice needed to continue training.
She roused Leafpaw from his nest, allowing the apprentice a few moments to wake up before leading him from camp. "We'll do some patrolling today, and a bit of hunting, I think. Prey's going to be harder to find soon, with leaf-fall setting in." She mewed.
as the rain had stopped leafpaw grumbled and woke up, he got up and yawned then feeling the cold he shivered"s-s-so c-cold!" he meowed shivering then shaking his pelt he tried to ignore the coldness

Brackenwing nodded, sympathetic to Leafpaw's shivering. "Yeah... I'm not looking forward to it getting colder, either." Sometimes she thought, she envied some of her clanmates who had been blessed with longer fur. "Come on, moving will help keep warm." She mewed. Perhaps if they happened upon a hawk and killed it, the feathers could be used for nest-lining. The clan was certainly going to need something warmer to sleep in, come the colder moons.
"So, hunting, then. Hares and rabbits are going to become scarce before too long with the cold weather. They won't breed until the end of leaf-bare. That's quite a ways from now, but you ought to be careful not to go after the very young prey too much. They're what'll keep the population alive in the future." She explained. She'd touched on it a bit before, but now that the weather was truly turning, it would be good to give a proper explanation. "Leaf-bare is a good time for injuries and sickness, both for us and our prey. You'll be able to tell by scent if a rabbit or whatever is sick, and they're likely to move slower too. That makes for an easier catch, and thinning out the weakest of their numbers helps their population remain strong too." She continued the explanation, recalling something her mother had said to her moons ago. As she talked, she kept an eye out, scanning the surrounding moorlands for signs of prey.
