Adderdawn
Leaf-fall had brought a noticeable change to the forest, and even to the moors WindClan called home. The other Clans had their trees, slowly changing colors and, the few he could see when he ventured closer to the Gorge, looked like they were dropping their leaves. A part of Adderdawn wished that his own home had sights like that, and he felt a little regretful of the fact they didn't on Flutterpetal's behalf more than his own. He was sure his brother would enjoy the sights, particularly walking under them. Gazing at them across the borders would have to be enough, though. And besides, WindClan still had the rolling field of flowers, something he was sure no other Clan had. Even though they would likely wilt away soon, or be buried under sheets of snow (which he fondly recalled Whisperear telling him about as a kit), they were here for now. And it was the perfect, peaceful place to lead his patrol to for their hunt. Flicking his tail to the cats that had joined them, Adderdawn bid a quiet nod before slipping off on his own.
It didn't take much searching to catch the scent of hare on the wind, and even less time to spot it. It was thin, like most hares were, but even if it wasn't particularly fat the critter was still big. According to the way older warrior's told it, prey would be thin soon, and hard to come by besides. These large catches would be luxuries in the coming moons. Lowering his body, Adderdawn pulled forward through the flowers, grateful for their cover, even if he hardly blended in. When the hare returned to nibbling on stalks, Adderdawn shot forward, determined to chase it down. Its ears swiveled and no sooner than he'd kicked off, his quarry dashed away from him, squealing as it sprang off. Eyes narrowing, Adderdawn pushed himself into a lengthier stride, pleased to see he was closing in on it swiftly. The ground between them was eaten up by dangerously quick paws, and the warrior's claws flashed out, batting the hare off-balance before he could lunge in, teeth pressing into its neck. It fought, briefly, and quickly went still. Pleased with such a good start to the patrol, and his continued success in hunting, Adderdawn carried his hare to a safe place amidst the flowers.

Flutterpetal loved the outdoors. He couldn't imagine sleeping inside some stone hollow or moss den, like he had heard his friends from other Clans mention. He wanted to feel the grass under his fur, see the stars above his head, and breathe nothing but wind. When he was out on patrol, he felt like he was part of the breeze, sweeping through the territory and watching everything with eyes that longed only to know, to see, to understand. It was when he closed his eyes and tasted wind that he could truly be WindClan. Today was no exception. In his favorite spot on the territory, the flower field dotted with varicolored petals that popped against the brittle grass, with his favorite cat, his best friend and brother Adderdawn, with the perfect ratio of warm sun and cool air sweeping through his fur, Flutterpetal felt like the world could finally make sense. There was no existential worry about death, no squabbles among Clanmates, no fear about what the future might hold. There was only the scent of flowers, the crunch of grass, the deep eyes of his brother, and the wind.
But he had to remember that there were other uses to patrols besides just enjoying what the world had to offer. Flutterpetal took a brief break from being the wind, and began searching for any prey hiding amongst the pretty blossoms. Many of these flowers were food for rabbits. One such rabbit could be spotted quickly, darting around the edge of the field, obviously wary of the deep stalks that would hide all of it but its ears. That one. He could catch that one. Eyes narrowing, Flutterpetal dropped low to the ground for a brief moment, skirting around the edge of the field so that he wouldn't trample flowers when he began the chase. Closer... just a little closer... there. Once he was within distance, Flutterpetal broke into a sprint, his practiced movements sending him almost flying over the grasses and flowers, toward the rabbit in the distance.
The rabbit stood no chance. Flutterpetal had descended upon it too swiftly for its hurried, jerky movements to get it out of harm's reach. A quick swipe of claws ended its life mercifully. For a moment, he stood looking at the thin gray figure beneath his paws. Thank you for giving your life... and thanks to the stars for the life you will allow others. With that, he picked it up in his jaws, trotting back to the other end of the field where he usually buried his prey in a shallow dirt hole beneath the moor. Flutterpetal glanced to the side, seeing that his brother had been successful as well-- a tall hare. "Good job, Adder!" he purred, trotting over to give his brother a friendly nudge with his paw. "Your hunting skills are great."
