Poppyshine happily swished her tail as she moved to sit under the Willow Branch at the head of camp. She turned back and called, “Warriors and apprentices, please gather for your patrol assignments.” It was not an official meeting, so she would catch whoever wasn’t present and let them know their assignments as well. She hoped that everyone would do their best to help out RiverClan.
Rowanpaw had been near enough that he caught Poppyshine's call in an instant, his mother's familiar voice rousing him from the light doze he'd drifted off to. Hopping to his paws, he hurried over– pleased to see that no other cats had crowded around her yet –brushing his cheek across hers briefly. He didn't even need to stretch up to do that anymore... he was certainly growing. Bouncing away, he circled around her with his tail swishing, grinning excitedly. "I'm doing very well now, mother, you see? It's like I was never bitten at all. I'm sure you've got somewhere exciting to send me off to."
Stormdance walked over at Poppyshine's call, giving her a smile of greeting. He sat down close by, but he didn't interrupt Rowanpaw's greeting. Though he did smile. He always liked seeing both Rowanpaw and Poppyshine happy. Still, he idly wondered as to his assignments, curious as to what his duties would be.
Sprucebark eagerly went over hearing his mums call. It looked like Rowanpaw was already there and he gave his sibling a sidelong glance. "Im glad you are doing better Rowanpaw
he forced a purr to go with it...
"...perhaps if you didnt sneak out of camp you wouldnt be in that situation in the first place" he was so tempted to say... but he did not say it and let that bit remain in his head.
Rowan and Spruce never got along all that well really but their shared intrest in the clan and Poppy's sons made them tolerate each other... in short bursts of time.
"Oh ! I hope I can go somewhere exciting too he meowed eagerly
"...maybe somewhere else though?" he murmured under his breath a bit.

Pineheart listened intently as he went near the small crowd of cats, he wanted to help the clan the best he could! So he might as well do a patrol, or whatever it was. He had time to spare. He had a hard time recognizing the cats in the clan, but it just meant that now he had an opportunity to learn the faces and fur that goes with each cat in the clan. He took a seat near some of the other cats while he waited for the assignment he would do.
❒ Brookstone had entered the camp just in time to hear Poppyshine gather the warriors and apprentices. Her eyes lit up before she hurried to place down the two fish she'd been carrying from her hunt. She then made her way over to the forming group, nodding a greeting to everyone.
❒ The brown-and-white tabby sat down near Stormdance. She gave him a wink and then a teasing nudge before turning her attention to the deputy. Her face brightened as she noticed Rowanpaw up and about. It was good seeing him full of energy again. "Rowanpaw! Look at ya! Glad ta see ya lookin' sturdy on your paws," she meowed. She shot him a grin then a wink. The molly then flashed that same grin to her former apprentice. "Spruce-ter! Hope you're excited for your patrol assignment, little fishy."

Poppyshine smiled brightly at the cats that gathered. She let them chatter and settle before she cleared her throat. “Hi everyone!” she purred. “I’ve got some assignments for you all.”
She scanned the group before she meowed, “First, given the influx of predators, I’ve wanted to make sure that a few warriors come with me in search of a fox den. There must be one in the territory given the amount we saw this last season. Brookstone, Grebedance, you’ll come with me to investigate.”
Continuing on, she meowed, "There are some camp duties that need to be taken care of as well. Stormdance, Pineheart, you both will help in the nursery to give the queens a break and look after some of the kits there.” She’d seen them both be great with kits in the past, and had no doubt that their presence would be a relief to the queens. “Sandypaw will also need some warriors to accompany her to gather some herbs. Kitespring will be going with her.” Poppyshine’s gaze went to her son. “Dovesight is going to be teaching all of the warriors some basic first aid training so we can help out one another, given the influx of injuries. Sprucebark, you’ll be the first one to get trained by her. Report to the medicine den this afternoon for training.”
“Rowanpaw,” Poppyshine continued as she looked to her other son. “You’re in charge of caring for the elders. Make sure that Twistpool is comfortable and has fresh bedding and a full meal.” Twistpool spends so much time on his own, and Poppyshine wanted to make sure that Rowanpaw was fulfilling his apprentice duties in helping look after them.
“Finally, we have the patrols. Rowanpaw, you will be accompanying Perchstar on the dawn patrol tomorrow, so get early rest tonight. Stormdance, you’ll be taking the sunhigh patrol with Kitespring. Sprucebark and Pineheart, you’ll be having the dusk patrol. Brookstone and Grebedance, you both will be together again to go on a hunting patrol after we investigate predators.”
With a final purr, Poppyshine meowed, “Let me know if you have any questions. I wish you all luck and good health in your duties.”
Pineheart looked at Poppyshine and nodded in acknowledgement, as he scanned the area for the cats he would be on his assignments with.. Stormdance and Sprucebark was it? He wasn't the best at recognizing them, but he let out a soft, quiet purr from looking at all of the cats around him, he had hoped they were all prepared and ready for their assignments. His assignments were helping the queens by taking care of the kits in their place for awhile, and a dusk patrol. It sounded fun, he hadn't done much that he'd remembered lately, so these, being unique, would likely be remembered better amongst all of his memories. He was glad to do this, for the well-being of the clan, and himself.
