Silverkits Apprentice Ceremony

Smallbean skittered to the top of the Tallrock, calling out to his clan for another ceremony. "All cats old enough to run the moors gather around the Tallrock for a clan meeting!"

Silverkit had been taking a nap in the wonderfully dim nursery when the sound of the deputy's call roused her. The kit stretched out on her bedding, before rising from her position in the nursery and padding out into the camp. Seeing the deputy atop the Tallrock woke Silverkit up entirely, and energy flooded her body as she realized what was happening. A meeting! He's calling a meeting! Silverkit bounded up to the Tallrock, shaking with excitement as she sat down beneath the deputy. She beamed up at the deputy, fur disheveled from her nap.

Smallbean couldn't help but smile at Silverkit's happiness when he spotted her in the crowd. "Silverkit, please step forward." He paused for a moment to give the kit time to do so. "You have now reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From now until you become a warrior, you will be known as Silverpaw. Your mentor will be Blazefang. I entrust that she will teach you everything she knows." After finishing the announcement, the deputy leaped from the Tallrock to join his clanmates in celebration.

Blazefang returned from a hunt just in time to hear the call to a meeting. “Must be an apprentice ceremony,” she mused under her breath, seeing her mentor on the rock. The ginger cat trotted into camp, a large rabbit dangling from her jaws. She sat down near the Tallrock, still holding the rabbit. Soon, she saw Silverkit emerge from the nursery. Probably her, Blazefang thought. How did kits always seem to know when it was their turn? Blazefang chuckled a bit at the kit’s messy fur, a mirror of her own usual look. Smallbean’s words confirmed Blazefang’s suspicions that this was Silverkit’s ceremony. The next words, however, startled her. “Me?” she mewed, dropping the rabbit. “Finally!” she exclaimed, coming to her senses and stepping forward to touch noses with her apprentice. “We start tomorrow.”

OOC: Talk about contrast! My SC warrior Snowfoot was present at the birth of her first apprentice because the mother was her best friend. Blazefang? Silverkit straight up just ran into her leg.
