hunting patrol [OPEN]

Leafpaw stretched as she waited for the rest of the patrol to gather. she really did not understand the point of waking up at midnight to hunt when she could do it during the day, but she wasn't in the mood to argue.

Swiftheart approached slowly with a kind smile and soft purr. "Good night Leafpaw" she purred in a friendly greeting. "I would love to join your hunt if you would like" the white furred warrior offered. Swiftheart was loving getting to make new friends and was very sociable and talkative.

"Ok lets go," Leafpaw nodded stiffly, as she was not in the mood to hang around in the cold for some cats who would never come. she headed out, her pawsteps as silent as possible. a fat squirrel nibbled on an acorn a few fox-lengths away. Leafpaw crouched, drawing her energy in, and pounced, paws extended.

Leafpaw gave the struggling wriggle a bite on the neck, trying not to gaga at the fur in her mouth.

Swiftheart purred at her younger sisters catch "Nice catch sis!" she purred encouragingly.  Swiftheart was glad that she was getting some time in with her new sibling now and a chance to kind - of get to know them better.  She had been so busy she had missed the time Leafkit was in the nursery and felt bad for that.  But getting to hunt with leafpaw now and seeing her younger sister improve was great and she wouldnt trade it for anything.


She stalked along nearby her looking for other chances at prey.  She spotted a frog nearby and stalked towards it.

swiftheart attempts to catch a frog: 1-6 works.

Unfortunatly for her: she missed and it got away.

Leafpaw could feel the happy energy swarming off Swiftheart in waves. it was almost annoying. a grey-and-white she-cat drifted through her mind.

"Have you checked on Vixenpaw lately?" she asked in a small voice, starring at Swiftheart with almost undisguised eagerness. the whole family was always worshipping her siblings-- Nightstalker, Swiftheart, Harechaser, Echomist-- the whole lot of them, always perfect. Leafpaw was useless. she was nothing. let her, even for a moment, see the horror and fear cross the perfect warrior's face.

Swiftheart was a bit caught off gaurd by the question. She knew that recently, Vixenpaw was feeling pretty bad with the death of her parents Deerleap and Sootwhisker. Deerleap had been a very close friend of Swifthearts and also the first apprentice that Swiftheart trained.


Vixenpaw had been pretty down recently. Understandably so after such a loss of their parents.


Swiftheart had seen them around a little but with all the tasks she had she had not gotten a chance to try and really be there for Vixenpaw as much as she fealt she should have been.

She looked at her paws a little, sorry that she had not been there as much as she should have been for the apprentice.

"No... I have not checked on them recently... but I know they are having a hard time" she responded quietly in a more somber tone than what she had been in.


Swiftheart had no idea that Leafpaw fealt this way : about being useless and having such feelings for her and the rest of their siblings.


However, the happy molly's energy soon reappeared. "Perhaps we could invite Vixenpaw on our next outing?"

she asked her younger sister with a tilt of her head.

"how is training going with Duskflight?" she asked curious to see how her younger sister was doing. Swiftheart was always very talkative and today was no exception.
