Come See Your New Leader

Shrikestar came back from a morning patrol, allowing himself a moment to let the sun wash over his fur. Now that he was the leader, it was rare that he got a moment to just breathe. It still felt unbelievable that he was the leader. He had been sure that none of WindClan's leaders would ever trust them, yet here he was, with StarClan's blessing and nine lives. It was funny how much different things could be with a little time. He looked over the clan, smiling to himself at the hustle and bustle of morning activity. WindClan was going to prosper more than ever: he would make sure of it.

Batsong was in a corner of camp. The shy molly usually hung out there in the cool of the shade that was there. It was also out of the way of the center and she did not like to be in the center of attention. She was quiet and reserved personality. The cats she knew she held very close ... however she always struggled to make lots of friends, between her stutter and reserved self, talking was not easy to her and trying to make new friendships was difficult at best for her.


Seeing her mentor become the leader of the clan made her super happy for him, he had mentored her well and she always trusted his judgment and looked up to him. It was most unfortunate Goldenstar had passed away so unexpectadly but she knew that Shrikestar would do a good job in leading their clan.

She slowly walked over to him a slight smile on her face, "hey s-s...sh...shrikestar" she stuttered over the new name...

Sigh...talk normal for once! she cursed herself silently

"c-congratulations on leader... I know you will do a g-great job. Smallbean was a good choice for deputy. You two will make a great team" she purred contently with a nod.

She sat next to him happy to just have a moment with him. It was a nice throwback to when he had trained her as an apprentice and she enjoyed getting to hang out with him.

Blazepaw trotted over to Shrikestar and Batstorm. “Yeah, congrats! What’s it like, being leader? I bet it’s SO exciting!”

Shrikestar turned to see Batsong trotting towards him, congratulating him on his new position. He smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Batsong. Both of us will do the best we can for our clan." Then came Blazepaw, excited as always. That was a good trait to have. "Well, I haven't been leader for more than a few days. It's exciting, but it's a big responsibility. There's a lot I have to handle." He grinned then. "But yes, it will certainly be exciting."
