Branching out

Batsong had always been a very quiet reserved cat and struggled to talk much at all and when she did talk it was with a very heavy stutter that she had since kithood. She didnt know alot of her clanmates super well but the ones she did know she held very close. Recently however, she had lost alot of family and friends during the whole dark forest.


She sighed looking out over the camp clearing. She spotted Hawkheart and knew him in passing but not super well by any means....

Geez Batsong! Here you are almost a senior warrior and you dont even know your full clan .... get with it! she said to herself in a disciplining tone.


Walking over to him slowly she glanced at him she bit her lower lip nervously.... talking was so not her strong suit and meeting new cats was defenetly not something she was used to.

"ermam ah duh uhh ermm... h-hi t-t..there" she stuttered and muttered tripping over each and every little word...

... What are you doing? she asked herself with a sigh... why was she so bad at this?

"umm w-w...wanna go h-h..hunt?" she finally managed to say

well just perfect... if he didnt think I was weird before now he definitely will now she said a bit too harshly to herself

Hawkheart was doing his favorite thing. Laying in one of the most obtrusive spots in camp, waiting for Coyotegrin to come back from a patrol. The sun was good at least, and day was not too hot yet. It was enjoyable... at least until someone came and shaded him. Opening one eye lazily, the tom looked to see who was stuttering to him awkwardly. He glared as she explained she wanted to hunt... and he thought he recalled her name to be Batsong? Maybe? The tom was silent for a moment before getting to his paws. "Fine. Nothing better to do anyway." A tom of few words, he motioned for Batsong to lead the way.

Batsong was a little annoyed at Hawkhearts obvious lack of trying as he lazed about camp.  She couldnt help but roll her eyes a little seeing how disrupted he looked when she awoke him from his comatose state of being loli-gaging there in the sun.  He then only agreed cause he had "nothing better to do"  which she also didnt appreciate. There was plenty to do around camp... patrols were always needed, hunting was to be done, dens repaired from the harsh season, and on top of all this alot of their clanmates were hurt from the dark forest final battle.  They needed all the help they could get....


Nothing better to do around here... the words rang in her ears annoyingly.

.... Wasnt this coytegrins mate? or Boyfriend?  ugh whatever they deserved each other.  She was passive agressive towards coytegrin much the same way coyotegrin was to her.  They both wanted what was best for whisperpaw but usually ended up in each others way... whatever at least he had agreed to come along... though he could not look less enthused if he tried.


Sighing she lead him out of the camp ... part of her wished she had just gone on her own.  She was a reserved cat and being alone had never bothered her before... and clearly this clanmate of hers wanted nothing to do with her anyways.

Well might as well make the most of it.

Walking along she wasnt exactly one to strike up a conversation but that was fine by her they weretn here to talk they were here to feed the clan and she was focused on the task at hand (paw).

Spotting a rabbit nearby she was happy to have such good findings so early in their expedition... hmm now to catch it.  She crouched low keeping her tail down as well as she glided just over the surface of the moor land.

She pounced and almost immedietly she was upon it. hmm too easy she thought to herself as she quickly nipped its neck and held it proudly in her jaws.

Looking over to her larger hunting partner she nodded "ok... your t-turn b-big guy" she stuttered a little words not her specialty with her stutter ever since kithood.

Hawkheart was a big cat. and by windclan standards he was huge!! Windclanners were usually smaller, built for speed and sleek. She wondered how he would fare against the speed of a rabbit.
