truth or dare [open to apprentices]

Games were a simple fact of life, even in dark times - as was the fact that apprentices were, no matter the circumstances, bound to find some way to get caught up in mischief. Even (or perhaps especially) under the watchful eye of the Dark Forest, kits played with moss balls and got into play-fights with their siblings and parents, while apprentices found new ways to get themselves - as well as one another - into trouble.

Leopardpaw in particular was bored. She couldn't leave camp without a warrior, and the warriors - including her own mentor - were usually busy, especially now. So, in an attempt to solve the problem of having nothing to occupy herself with once she was done her apprentice tasks for the day (which didn't even take long, considering just how many apprentices there were at the moment), she'd done her best to set up a little game with some of her denmates. A harmless, not-really-organized game of truth or dare, with a few simple rules to make sure no one got hurt. It was just a bit of mischief, something for them to do while the older cats were otherwise occupied.

"Just basic rules," she'd told those who had been at all interested in hearing her out, or just willing to listen. "Nothing that can get anyone seriously hurt, and nothing that can get someone else in real trouble. 'Cause it's no fun if it ends before we're done, right?" There was also the unspoken law of secrecy, but she didn't see any need to voice that. Instead she regarded her denmates with a spark in her eyes. "So, who wants to go first?"

"oh, ME!" Vixenpaw shrieked, jumping to her paws in her excitement and lashing her tail back and forth. after a bit of calming down, she turned to her other denmates, scrutinizing them with narrowed eyes.

Leafpaw licked her paws slowly as she tried to blend in with the other cats. surely, none of her denmates would choose her.

Honeypaw listened to Leopardpaw talk about the game, sitting in the little circle of apprentices who decided to join the game. He’s excited! He’s pretty bored himself, and he wanted to spend more time with his fellow apprentices anyway. He kneaded the ground a bit and flashed Vixenpaw a grin when her gaze passed over him.
