Midnightpelt ALMOST dies

Midnight winced slightly as she walked to the center of the clearing of FourTrees, her footsteps leaving a trail of blood.

Rainfall had been taking a stroll in the moonlight. She had made it as far as Fourtrees when she heard something moving in the clearing below. She slid, almost on her belly, up to the lip of the spot. She saw Midnightpelt and immediately bristled, but then realized the she-cat was injured. Racing out, she asked, "Midnightpelt, what happened?"

"Nothing." Midnightpelt hissed softly, turning to face the opposite direction Rainfal was in.

"I can smell the blood, " she muttered. "It looks like you need help."

"I dont want help." Midnightpelt muttered, "A little blood loss never killed anybody.."

The Windclan deputy snorted.
"A little?" she questioned, nodding towards the trail of the red stuff behind the Shadowclan she-cat.

"Yes a little." Midnightpelt snapped, turning slowly to Rainfall, "I have been injured worse."

A small smile touched the corner of Rainfall's mouth.
"Then what happened here?" she pressed, stepping closer.

"Why do you need to know?" Midnightpelt asked, shifting her feet. She growled softly as she momentary blanked out from the loos of blood.

In a flash, the gray and white cat was by the black one.
"Let me help you," she pleaded, her eyes concerned.

Midnightpelt shook her head, but was getting too weak to protest. "How can you?"

"Just tell me what happened," she replied gently.

"I can't." Midnightpelt hissed,her green eyes clouding over for a second, "All I remember is whatever it was clawing a gash in my stomich."

"That's not good," she said, shaking her head. "I'm no medicine cat, but I know that stomach wounds are fatal the majority of the time." She didn't even ask if Midnightpelt remembered what the thing was that had been slashing at her stomach.

"It was a badger." Midnightpelt mumbled. "Its dead though. So I'm, going to die unless iI get to a med. cat?"
