Darkpaw's Dream

Dovefrost had resigned himself to Starclan not showing. For now he was just using this as an excuse to give apprentices a chance to have a good night's rest away from the terrors that hung around their camp. They didn't have a need to step in the medicine den, so they pretty much left the Tom to his devices.

Tonight it was Darkpaw's turn to rest in the medicine den. Dovefrost didn't really know what to say to the young tom, then again Dovefrost wasn't exactly one for conversation. [color:6d85=dark gray]"Just try to get some decent rest okay?" He told the apprentice that occupied his den.

Darkpaw only nodded at the order to sleep. He settled into a nest and sighed loudly. Curling himself into a tight C shape, he closed his eyes and let his mind drift. All that met him was darkness. There were no dreams, not any that he could remember anyway. He did sleep well though without other apprentices tossing and turning and waking him up. Once he finally did wake up, he found himself stretched out and on his side with a large puddle of drool by his face. He lifted his head blinked blearily around the medicine den. He swiped a paw over his mouth to get rid of his saliva and smacked his lips a few times. All he needed now was some water.

"That was probably the best sleep I've had in my entire life." He said with a smile, one eye still half closed and sticky. He hoped that was more encouraging than disappointing for Starlingflare... There had no no visit from Starclan, and Darkpaw felt like he would have known if they had shown up.
