ThunderClan/RiverClan Border - Midday
Poppypaw took the opportunity, to get out of camp when she could. The undead were overwhelming, she still hadn’t fully worked through what happened at the Gathering, and…and…She just needed an excuse to clear her mind. Unfortunately for her, her mind was not being cleared. Images of the Gathering still swam around in her mind: the missing moon, the bleeding undead cats, the ShadowClan cat who got killed and Beaverpaw…
“Oh Beaverpaw,” Poppypaw whispered. She hadn’t spoken with her much at all, but she had still been a member of RiverClan. On top of that, she had been an apprentice! For an apprentice of all cats to be killed at a Gathering, where safety and truce was meant to be sacred. She hadn’t seen much of what happened, only a flash of fur and suddenly Beaverpaw being dead on the ground surrounded by blood. The thought made her gag and she paused, her eyes shut tightly. It was horrible. And Poppypaw was almost certain she had caught a whiff of ThunderClan.
Her feet continued walking, dragging without much thought. She walked along the river, crossing it at one point and still walking. She should be hunting, collecting prey for her clan, but she didn’t have the heart for it. Poppypaw wanted to be curled up in her bed and sleep for a millennia, but she also didn’t want to be near any of those horrible undead creatures that had come with them back to camp.
Poppypaw’s mind was so filled with terrible thoughts that she hadn’t even noticed what direction she was wandering in. The border separating ThunderClan from RiverClan was far behind her. She was so lost in her own mind that she didn't realize where she was or even notice the cat she was dragging her paws towards.
Poppypaw successfully invaded ThunderClan without detection! Unfortunately, her clouded mind has led her straight to a ThunderClan cat anyway...
Softfall snuck silently through the forest of his land, it had been a couple days since his warrior ceremony and he felt proud as ever to have the new name and title that came with that. He smelled around the forest for anything to eat. Prey had been so scare of late and the limited land Thunderclan had was truly not enough to sustain their clan. If Riverclan was not put into check soon Thunderclan would grow weaker and weaker until the fish-brains took them out compleltly, they had already stolen sunningrocks from them and they probably would take more if they could the greedy clan that they were.
He batted angerly at the ground thinking about all of this, his anger mirrored from Appledapple had always been there and now it was growing further intensifying. After the gathering he had been sure to keep a relatively low profile he figured if no one had reported it by now, it was a mystery for all the clans that he hoped would remain unsolved.
As he walked along the relatively small amount of land Thunderclan was left with a fowl smell filled his nostrils. .... What in the world!?? Riverclan scent this far into Thunderclan territory??
Was thunderclan being invaded? His mind scrambled and he dug his claws into the earth. Let them try. He kept stealthy to the bushes undergrowth peering ahead was a lone Invader... she looked small hmm perhaps an apprentice or a young warrior? She looked lost and totally unaware of her surroundings
Softfall didnt really care either way he had... dealt with ... apprentices before this time would be no different if that was indeed the case. If she was an apprentice he could always lie and say he thought she was a warrior who should have known better. A grin widened on his maw as he listened for any other nearby cats. Hearing nothing he silently followed her a little longer letting her worsen her mistake and get further into Thunderclan territory, the further she wondered in the farther back to the safety of her side he figured... although if he did this right she would never see her side of the border again.
His heart beat grew faster as he gave one final check that there were no others close behind her. Then with a sudden burst of speed he charged out of the undergrowth and leapt directly at her center with outstreatched paws bowling her over.
Oh this was so much fun he instantly thought back to the gathering and how he killed the apprentice there. If he could manage to pick this she cat off here and now that would be 2 Riverclan cats gone within a moon of each other. This and the beating of Hollyleaf at the gathering from the Dark forest cat would be sure to slow down the Riverclan aggression against his home Thunderclan. Perhaps it would even weaken them enough to challenge for Sunningrocks... but he would likely have to wait longer for that. Right now he just focused on how good it felt to rake his outstretched claws along the unsespecting she cats pelt ripping away at bits of fur.
"Riverclan just doesnt learn do they!?" he hissed. He thought of the irony of how Perchfall had mocked him so much when he crossed the border and how he was "ill trained" hmm well who was crossing now? Who was ill trained now huh Perchfall. He wanted so much to end that deputy ... but he knew that he would have to be patient for now. For now this would do nicely!
Softfall has attacked with Jumping stike dealing 7(+3 for first attack) damage and costing 7 sp

Poppypaw noticed the ThunderClan scent at the last second. She lifted her head, confused about why she was suddenly scenting so much of her neighboring clan when suddenly a large force collided with her. She shrieked as claws raked down her flank. She was fighting a cat, not a predator, so her instinct was not immediately to attack to kill. Her mind was spinning so hard from being yanked out of her thoughts that she couldn’t piece together what was going on yet. She rolled to the side and smacked at the cat with a sheathed claw to give her just enough time to scramble back a few foxtail-lengths.
With the distance between them, she was able to see who it was that attacked her. The cat was bigger than her, and grey. It was a familiar shade, though Poppypaw couldn’t quite place it. She thought that she’d seen him at the Gathering, possibly. He actually looked a lot like another ThunderClan cat she’d spoken to, Cinderpaw. Her stomach churned at the memory of the terrible Gathering.
She realized with a start that the ThunderClan scent wasn’t coming just from this cat, but all around her. Poppypaw glanced around and her stomach sank. This wasn’t RiverClan. Did she cross the border and not realize it? Had she been such a mousebrain as to completely forget where the territories lie? No wonder this cat was attacking her!
“I-I’m sorry!” she stammered. “I’m so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was!” Her tail lowered and her ears lay flat. She backed away from Softfall slowly. “I-I’ll go back! I’m so sorry!”
She turned, starting to head back toward the border. Perchfall was going to be so upset with her.
Poppypaw used Front Paw Blow, dealing 4 damage and costing 5 SP.
Softpaw blinked suprised as she pawed at him hardly doing any damage at all to him...
"Pathetic! No wonder Riverclan is the worst clan... not only can you keep to your land but you fight worse than a kit!" he sneered at her as she squirmed away.
Softfall quickly cut off her path back to her land. "Oh its far too late to go back now! You will pay for stealing from us" he grinned enjoying every moment of this as he circled her a bit toying with the smaller cat. "Dont you think Riverclan has taken enough from us? Your greed will be your downfall!" he hissed launching at her again. He wasn't about to let her off that easily. He attacked with everything he had. His anger was in full control now! and he wanted nothing less than to have the same result at the gathering.
He bit into her should and tried to move his way up toward her neck the same way he had done at the gathering. But by either good luck or perhaps Starclan's intervention he lost a bit of his footing and he was not able to move up to her neck the same way he had done to Beaverpaw. He stayed latched onto her shoulder for now biting down hard the taste of blood not foreign to his mouth. Oh this feeling of pure power felt so good.
Softfall used SNAP! for 7 dmg 7 sp
Unfortunately for softfall but luckily for Poppypaw and literally everyone else, he was loosing more and more of his footing in the mushy snow that had been thawing with the newleaf just around the corner. He slipped allowing for the briefest of opportunities for Poppypaw to escape his jaws...

“No no I wasn’t hunting; I didn’t steal anything!” Poppypaw squeaked. Her words didn’t seem to affect Softfall at all. When Softfall snapped at her, she ducked in the snow so his jaws bit at nothing. Her mind once again flashed to Beaverpaw, and the gray fur she saw, and how jaws had snapped onto Beaverpaw’s neck and then disappeared. No…Was this cat…the one who killed Beaverpaw?!
Poppypaw didn’t know for sure, but she didn’t want to wait and find out just how serious this fresh warrior was about killing her. She scurried through the snow, wishing she could move to escape. She took the opportunity of Softfall being caught off guard by her dodge to try and swipe back at him. This time she didn’t hold back her claws, and instead tore her claws through his fur. She scrambled back a few paces, breathing heavily.
“I don’t want to fight you! I didn’t hunt in your territory, I just got lost!” she insisted. “Please, I’ll leave! You don’t have to keep fighting me!”
Her mind was reeling. She thought back to speaking with Cinderpaw, the cat that looked so similar to this warrior. Cinderpaw had scolded her for thinking that RiverClan and ThunderClan could get along. Was all ThunderClan this aggressive against their neighbors?
Poppypaw used Dodge and Fight! It dealt 5 damage and cost 7 SP.

POPPYPAW: 10 / 20 HP (+7 to dodge previous attack) 48 / 60 SP (-7)
Her dodging the attack made Softfall all the more angry. "Riverclan always wants to fight us!" he countered "why then do you take all our land if you dont want to fight! You take and you take and you take while there is nothing for Thundrclan left"
he growled approaching again he wouldnt miss a second time. "Today I take something from Riverclan!" he yowled
under his breath he murmored " a little revenge coming your way Perchfall." it was quiet but still hearable. He thought back angerly to getting his first catch he ever got stolen from him by the riverclan deputy. He knew this young warrior or apprentice would pass on what happened here... in fact he counted on it, Riverclan should be told and shown what happened if they tresspassed on what belong to Thunderclan. That is... if she escaped which he didnt plan on letting happen in the first place, but figured that in either scenario he had accomplished what he wanted.
With another twisted grin he lashed out with his front paws claws unleashed, he wanted maximim effect afterall.
Softpaw used front paw strike for 7 dmg and 7 sp

Poppypaw’s heart skipped a beat. Take something? Take what? She could barely process her own thoughts before Softfall’s claws raked down her flank, knocking her over to rake her belly. Pain blossomed through Poppypaw’s body and it felt like her insides were going to pour out. She saw red paint the snow as she collapsed on to the ground.
I’m going to die. He’s going to kill me. I’m what he’s taking from RiverClan.
The realization hit Poppypaw all at once and she knew, finally, that this was not a cat that she could simply reason with. He was not going to let her just walk back to the border. If she was going to escape with her life, she would have to run, despite the pain crashing through her body.
Using up all of the energy she had inside of herself, Poppypaw suddenly sprang up to her feet. She took the opportunity to kick up snow into Softfall’s face. With him temporarily blinded, she immediately sprinted back towards the border, faster than she’d run from anything before. Her fur was puffed and fear-scent wafted off of her. Spots of blood flung off of her fur and dappled the snow as she practically flew over snowbanks. Even when she finally crossed the border back into RiverClan, she didn’t slow down as she raced back toward camp.
Poppypaw used Disengage, costing all of her SP! Poppypaw has escaped!
