Each tiding of the moon brought lesser and lesser sleep. Wounds, both which seen and unseen, failed to knit together in a semblance of healing; long-lasting prickling of mistrust and hurt clashing deeply against the injuries dealt by flora and fauna alike during his ill-fated excursion out with Darkglow. The alabaster monotony of the season, leisurely drifting by in a perpetual dragging of absolute nothingness, did little to quell the simmering restlessness welling deep within his bones.

Waking and consciousness beyond the realm of waking melded together in the background of his weary brain, the crushing sensation of having his throat torn out and the crushing sensation of being rend down to the barest state of being always clogging up the reaches of his throat. There was a welling sense of forboding collapse pressurizing within his unstable nervous system, a hyper-awareness of the continual pressings of an unusually difficult season and all the strain such tidings subsequently brought always lingering. It was difficult for Jaystar to remain intact within the present, difficult for him to remain conscious and interactive with his Clanmates- especially with the lingering repertoire of Vixenstar's velvety promises constantly on a loop within his fracturing sense of awareness.

It was hardly a surprise to find himself awaking within the strange forest once again, after hours of restless fidgeting.

Vixenstar’s tail tip twitched as she awaited Jaystar’s arrival, positive that he’d make the right choice. When, finally, he made his appearance, her teeth chattered gently, and she dipped her bead in greeting. ”You’ve made your decision, then?” The question was rhetorical; it needed no answer from the tom. He wouldn’t be here if he’d chosen to turn his back on her. ”We’ll begin training immediately. If you are to make it here, you must learn quickly. Pay attention, and don’t mess up.” This, in fact, was not a question, but a statement. Vixenstar would just as soon cast Jaystar to the side if he didn’t prove to be worthy of her training. With no warning, she turned around and charged into the tom’s side, paying no attention to the sticky crimson that dripped from her eternal wounds.

Vixenstar used Dishonorable Charge, dealing 10 (+2 to Dark Forest Cat) Health Points and using -20 Stamina Points. Jaystar is stunned for two turns! Attack cannot be dodged, and Random Recall may not be used.

The stiff damp air split suddenly under the pitching weight of voices, rapidly mounting tension abruptly cleaved in two as though lightning had cleanly poured down from the darkness-riddled heavens lost well above within the vein-like twisting of a dismal canopy. The heavy shadows fringing the wilted clearing, loosely encircling the entirely of the barren space now occupied by Jaystar, trembled and warped suddenly- Vixenstar emerging in a singular sheen of movement that went rippling across the hazed reaches of his vision as though the barrier of movement was little more than a spring blossom. An unfamiliar emotion creased between the finely-made arch of his deeply furrowed brows, suspended somewhere between the relentless roar of adrenaline-fueled strength and speed and the distaste, his tongue weighing heavily against the narrow confines of his tightly clinched teeth. In the ensuing, infinitesimal heartbeats of stillness, the relentless beat of his heart sounded entirely too loud.  

Weight lurching downwards into the dirt with a surprise abandon for such a large cat, the initial collision into the coarse dirt was little more than unpleasant; hard enough to nick his tongue against his teeth, give his bones a thorough rattling, set the edges of his vision quavering with just a touch of dizziness. It took a few quick-moving heartbeats for Jaystar to actually process the incredibly faint crack that wept outwards from the tight confines of his ribcage, an unseen collision with a particularly sharp stone - likely unnoticed during the initial fall due to the violence in the act of being batted aside by Vixenstar - seeming to cause a break of sorts. Tension seized the muscles along his right side, a hard and heavy ache seeping into his lungs with each constricted breath taken, drawing his poor mood all the more sour as he watched his newfound handler of sorts doll out instructions, her own blood mixing with that which his own just spilled.

"Gracious teachings indeed," Jaystar eventually gritted out from his place in the dirt, wet simper shaded with a faint red sheen, "though in a turn of fortune for you, I have yet to find myself slated with the accusation of being a slow learner." Even against moves such as these.

”Is that so?” Vixenstar breathed, microscopic droplets of sticky crimson radiating from each exhale the molly took. Looking down on the felled tom, she spared him no mercy as hardened, narrow green eyes stared him down. Sharp claws dug into his already weak pelt, flesh giving way to the battle-hardened claws that skillfully targeted the weak points in his skin. ”Prove it. I’m going easy on you, don’t disappoint me.” She growled, licking the sticky blood that dripped from her claws.
